Firstly I would like to say a big thanks 😃, I'm a single mother from Australia and my air-con stopped working a few months ago. I was quoted a couple hundred dollars to get it fix but after some research and coming across your video I done it myself for a faction of the cost in about an hour.
    Thanks again for sharing.

Same thing on my Astra H , the blower wasn't spinning at all , very hard to move, but instead replace the part, I just sprayed plenty of WD40 inside, manually rotated ,connected to an 12 V battery and worked! Left running for 15 min and assembled back. Still working after 6 months. Of Course smelled WD 40 for weeks , but every time I felt that smell just remind me the money I saved . Thanks for the video!

Thanks for this. Just had to replace my blower and your video was a huge help. Especially knowing how to take out the heater resistor from your other video. Cheers.

Thanks heaps!! Holden wanted almost $600 for a new fan!! So i just fixed it. It's really easy to get apart. bearings are easy to repair (just brass bush) Problem was corrosion due to water getting in. One of the brushes was stuck. Really simple to repair these fan motors!!! Try before you buy!!

just for future reference every time ive changed a heater resistor the reason it had blown is because of a high resistance on the heater motor so i always advise my customers to have both done because normally when the fan blows it takes the resistor out with it

I had the same problem. Just took of the bottom part where the electro motor is and just cleaned it so that it was not stuck anymore. Saved me to buy a new one

my mechanic told me that resistor pack and blower fan both must be changed as a pair, changing one will burn the other , and i guess in your case its same as you just recently changed resistor pack,
are you sure that it was due to water not because of the resistor pack

My zafira tourer 1.6 64 plate is under a vauxhall 100000 mile warranty scheme. Every year i have to take it in for a check and activation to keep it running. Every year i have done the activation and every year they say im not covered as i didnt get it activated on the 1st year. I have all my receipts as proof and show them every year. They end up photocopying all my documents, including v5 to prove im owner. Its a joke and it still happens every year.
I recently had my fans stop and everything was working perfect with everything on car other than fans. I took it in under warranty and had all my papers incase as the usual probs. They checked the car and said its the blower fan seizing up. Needed to order in and it will take 1 and a half hours labour. They booked me in and said nothing about warranty. However, when leaving, my cruise control stopped working. So its odd it was working and after checking my blower, its not. So i told them that my cruise control needs looking at as its ever since they checked fan. They did fan and i waited 2 hours in waiting room. Then guy said its done.......BUT......YES.......AGAIN......i aint got warranty. I said yes i have. After a debate and proof. Yet again, the photocopied EVERYTHING......AGAIN, INCLUDING V5 AGAIN. I said do i get a reciept for this work as its still issued even under warranty. They said not yet, until the issue of warranty is corrected at vauxhall. I got in my car and found a prob with parking sensor service with a spanner. Wtf. So it started with a fan, then cruise control, now parking sensors. I went in and told them that its just come on after the fan suppose to b done. He said they would need it booked in to look at. I said its just been in and everythings gone wrong since. They said could be rain as its chucking down and tempermental. I never had this issue in rain. Went back to car and pressed sensor off but kept flashing. So i got out and checked sensors, only to find someone hit my car and damaged rear bumper, cracked, scuffed, etc. I wasnt happy after all just for a fan. I went in and told guy why and he said oh, someone hit u. Must be somewhere u been. I said its def in the dealership as it was fine...........BUT HERE IS THE BONUS..........i got mywitness cameras front and rear AND it records even when parked. The look on his face. Well i said dont worry, im going home to get footage.
On way home my cruise control still not working, but fans fixed.
On viewing the footage, i found the person who hit me and the number plate clearly. So thats gonna be dealt with. But it also recorded the car in service centre. Get this. It was drove in garage at 11.40. 5 mins guy just stood around. 11.45 was last footage and the 12.01pm he reversed it out of garage and drove down motorway and back. 10 mins. 12.11pm parks car out back and the camera is recording for a further 1 and a half hours sitting outside and i was waiting all this time for jack. Then they said its done.
So they said it would take 1 and a half hours to fit, yet my camera picked up nothing for 16 mins before leaving. So was it really 16 mins to fit a suppose 1 and a half? Why make u wait all this time? Because it looks like they take more time 4 a quick job.
    Camera dont lie. Lol.
So i still have no cruise control and a damaged bumper and sensors that will be going through insurance with video evidence.
What a JOKE. why did the guy drive the car and not say anything about cruise control?????
although this is nothing to do with cameras.
My advice to anyone, GET A CAMERA. Coz i dont trust these garages. Ive got footage of how little time it clearly took to fit and i might upload it on youtube for others to prove, coz i dont like people being screwed. 👍

My fan started to make a rattling sound on the zafira b whilst using it today . I switched it off thinking of the zafira fires .

My father has an Astra, and he got a friend of his to change this fan( dont know what was the problem then) I have looked behind the glove compartment, but havent gotten around to taking it apart yet. Now the fan seems to be blowing in the wrong direction, either by the motor going the wrong way or the blades being mounted the wrong way, is this posible by ex. switching the polarity? it does blow air in the right direction it seems but not much is coming out even tho you can hear it going at it full.

Cheers for the vid, this and your resistor pack one helped me diagnose the issue on my '08 Astra H MK 5.
I did a bit more research on the replacement fan motor and you can pick up a new Delphi motor (Part # 93191901) on eBay for £42-£48 delivered.
All in with a new heater blower fan resistor it was £50.
    That's my weekend sorted!

This job deceptively looks easy but it’s not lol. The theory is easy, but actually doing it, very hard to remove the bolts on the ends, and removing the wires from the resistor, requires lots of patience and having a crooked neck

Mega - trust me, adding wd40 to the situation wasn't going to help that fan!! Haha, with this particular part you would probably get more reliability out of a brand new one than a salvage. Remember a salvaged part could have been sitting there exposed to the elements for X amount if time.
