Bearing makes Salamander a lot better, especially in Defense mode, although Atomic also makes most left spinning beyblades more threatening so yeah, Atomic is a good choice but I'd say Bearing is better in my opinion
The only driver that Hasbro manufactured better than the original Takara Tomy Product is Operate that comes with both a battle ring and slingshock in both balance and jump mode

It has awful stamina and defence, it has no attack power and even in opposite spin, it doesn't stand a chance even on a piece like Br or Ds. And no, I'm not just talking about the stock combo of S4.12.Op-S, I'm talking about with good combos.

I tested them against things like: H4, P4, gK4, bL4, G3, Z3, dC3, and T3 on the same combos, and: L3, X3, X4, and J3 on different combos. And I even battled the tested layers against each other to see who was better in a straight up battle. And guess what? hS4 did significantly worse in every single test. In terms of actual head on battle strength the list went like this: 1: SrS3 2: B3 3: F3 4: lS3 5: hS4 and in the terms of all the other tests it went like this: 1: B3 2: SrS3 3: F3 4: lS3 5: hS4. Sure lS3 lagged behind a bit, but it is saved because it can always take an opposite spin match instead of the others who couldn't (and yes, SrS3 can too, it's just against the rules in an official tournament). There is literally no reason to use hS4.

Good bey. Only problem is that its layer gimmick change is very very broken. The clip very solemly stays in when you put it in 5 blade mode. I would suggest maybe skipping on the hasbro version and getting the tt version. The layer gimmick works so much better
