The one behind this is NooNoo he poisoned the custard because he thought the tubbies were weak and he wanted to make the stronger so he made the custard so that the tubbies died and were reborn into mutated undead tubbies like La La, however some of them such as Dipsy don't mutate and instead only try to kill you, also tubbies like Po have multiple stages during the fight with him and can become stronger at each stage, leading it to be harder each stage.
