I’ve been waiting for this forever! Arguably the best 80’s night driving song and Sykes is an extremely underrated guitarist.
The first song I played with a solo after 2 years of learning guitar. I play it a different way but Sykes played it differently live all the time. Sometimes he was the only guitar player when he's singing it. John Sykes is my favorite guitar player. Thought 1987 (was 16 at the time) was a masterpiece in my eyes. I didn't start playing guitar until my 40's though. "Still of the Night" I've been working on for years. A lot going on there. I saw Whitesnake in 1990 (Steve Vai & Vandenberg) and they played 1987 and 1989 albums in their entirety. I so wanted to see Sykes, thought he would come back...never happened.
The only time I saw Sykes was with Blue Murder which was cool but oh to see him with Whitesnake too!! The only time I saw Whitesnake was with Vandenberg and Campbell.
@@CC-qb9sm Viv and Van were great in their own right but they were playing Sykes tunes. I'm a Blue Murder fan too. Sykes thought "Saving My Love" off Nothing But Trouble was going to be as big as "Is This Love" but didn't even crack the top 100. A shame Sykes can really sing too. I hear he was supposed to make a comeback in 2020 then covid hit.
Its one thing to teach me how to play its an added bonus to introduce me to things Ive never heard before. Really influences me to broaden my horizons on what I play.
OMG Carl. Why am I not surprised!!! I started fooling around with this at band rehearsal. When I found this lesson, of course you are here doing it. Amazing as usual Carl🎸 Thanks again My Friend!!!
Requested this one a couple times a while back, thank you so much for this one! Beautiful guitar parts throughout the song and such an emotional guitar solo! I can definitely apply the string bending and vibrato skills I sharpened in the GL365 Academy to this song! Thank you again! Have a great weekend too Carl! 🤠
Mr. Carl thank you so much for producing this content I am a major fan and a new player only been using your videos and apps to learn, I love to even attempt to try this song along with others using no name strat replica slowly getting better over the past three months just wanted to send a special shout out thank you to you and show my appreciation

This sounds good on my Ibanez Jem too. I play it the exact same way. I like the apreggiated notes instead of harmonics at the beginning. It sounds better. Fun to play.
Love your lessons! I know maybe your playing a jem because Steve Vai played guitar on Whitesnake but for beginners is way harder.to follow you with the flower inlay than dots to guide us on the fretboard... Beautiful guitar though 😮
Hey, love your videos! I have a song request for a complete song lesson: Can you do Victim by Avenged Sevenfold? It's my absolute favourite song! Keep up the great work, I appreciate it!

That Still of The Night breakdown is one of the coolest riffs EVER.

The dislikes are all the people who found out it wasn't the love that they were feelin', it wasn't the love they'd been searchin' for.
