The voting system needs to change and definitely votes need to be public. I didn’t know they could volunteer to reveal who they voted for. Voting for hometown players like Ryan Howard maybe the voters votes for players that played in the city they worked in. Should be less of a vote and consider lowering the voting percentage. Baseball has changed so much since the conception of the hof ballot system. Great video man and I don’t know what made me go on a rant like you. Steroid users saved baseball why punish them when the owners and commissioner knew what they were doing.

These voters need to take into consideration that had these “tarnished” players not saved the game after the ‘94 strike, they’d all be out of jobs. Throwing pro ball players under the bus to save face is bullshit. As Gibson mentioned, players have cheated for as long as baseball’s been played. It’s ultimately a grey area between “illegal” and “advancement”. I suppose any athlete drinking protein shakes or sleeping in an oxygen capsule should be barred as well. I mean, since it wasn’t available in the 1920’s.

As a Braves fan I really don’t like Barry bonds, the guy took away Hank Aaron’s record by juicing, I don’t care who you are that’s essentially playing the show against CPU on rookie and saying you’re the best player in the game. He shouldn’t be a hall of famer, was he a good player, yes, could he have actually earned his status as a hall of famer, also yes. But since he never showed us his career without steroids we will never know if he was actually better than Hank. And for that, in my mind he will never be a hall of famer.

I’m also a Braves fan, but my stance is different Be free to disagree however you please, this is is just my opinion. Hank Aaron will forever be my role model, for what he did both on and off the field. He is my favorite player of all time. As a young black he is my inspiration of who I want to be. However, I do believe Barry Bonds should get into the hall of fame because he already had a hall of fame resume before he started juicing (which most sources agree was in 1998). At that point, he already had a 400-400 career, something no other player has done before or since. That, and the fact he already had 3 MVP awards meant that even if he never played another game, he would have probably made it in. However, he is NOT home run king, as 1. He only had 7 more home runs than Hank, so make that 71 home run season a 63 homerun season (which is still outrageously high) and he has no crown
      2. Hank Aaron was a more dignified and overall better man than him by a extreme marging
Once again, this is just my opinion.

He was facing potential prison time or at the least a huge lawsuit, so they offered a settlement where he accepted a lifetime ban. This is not debatable. I look at Kent, Rolen, and Vizquel as a similar group since they were all great infielders. Each of them are HOF in 2 of 3 main categories. But each of them are weak in one area which is either defense, longevity, or offense. I'm sick of people only making excuses to dismiss a guy who didn't have the big personality and persona. Rather than picking at the 1 thing they weren't the best at let's focus on the other 2 parts that makes them HOF. Plus, if you look at the percentage of players who played getting into the HOF it is lower today than it was in the past. Some people think of the HOF like the All Century Team but it is not that at all. There are a number of players in the HOF which were great but had one area that was just okay but the greatness as a whole is not overshadow by it but instead they shine like baseball stars. I would like to see them go in as a group of infielders since as a group I think they're elite and worthy of the HOF.

First, if you aren't going to vote for anyone, why request a ballot?
Second, the baseball HoF is a complete joke. Admission is voted on by people, whose job it is to drum up a story where there may or may not be one.
Third, on the outside chance that Bonds is voted in, I don't think he would even show up at the ceremony. If he did, they better have more than 15 seconds on their dump button.
Fourth, do the writers not understand, that as an entity, they should want as many people as possible to go see their shrine to greatness? How can they do that if they are purposely keeping out 2 of the 5 greatest players to ever lace up a pair of cleats. They are imbeciles.

Also when everyone is cheating then that means it’s a even playing field. Nevermind the fact Bonds was having a HOF career even before people started to suspect something.
The fact is Barry Bonds had a lot of bad relationships with sports writers and this is their way to be petty. It’s sad

I am baffled and really don't understand how out of all 6 of those ballots not one is for Billy Wagner. Closers/Relievers are so undervalued. It's so easy go make a case that Billy Wagner is one the best. Especially after learning how to pitch left handed after naturally being a righty and easily became one of the best leftys. He threw gas and made batters look silly.

It's called the damn Hall of FAME. So, you would think that these players who are extremely famous and even revived baseball in their respective eras would make it in at first chance right?
If these most FAMOUS baseball players of recent times don't make it in (Ortiz, Clemons, Bonds, etc.), then the whole thing is just a joke. There are even players who have claimed to have cheat or even 'juice' that have already made it in the HOF. These voters just don't make any sense. Baseball would most likely not even be around anymore if it weren't for some of these guys getting snubbed right now...

The pass you might give Lynn Henning is that opting not to vote for Ortiz this year is probably under the assumption that he gets more votes in future years (and knowing he's going to make the threshold to stay on).
I can agree in many ways with not voting in Bonds/Clemens/Rodriguez/Schilling despite knowing--yes, knowing--they are some of the best players of all time. There are still plenty of players who deserve a vote, though, that're completely overlooked here. Wagner didn't get _nearly_ enough love.
