I remember I didn’t like this updated theme the first time I heard it. Now it’s grown on me and I really enjoy it. The original theme will always be my favorite but I like this one too.
Season 5 was at a time where there was old looking programs and really new looking ones. Quantum Leap really evolved into looking very fresh in it's final season. And, I really liked the new theme remix as well as the stories. Catered to the younger fans maybe. Hearing the old theme song during the final episode was tear jerking. You knew this was it.
The fifth season theme is questionable, but there's no questioning the work that's been done on this restoration. Great work! One question - did you recreate the text overlays or just use the best quality clips you could find for those scenes?
The Season 5 theme sounds too much like college football halftime marching band music. So so so glad they changed it back for the series finale episode.
@feenix219 that's because for whatever reason when Quantum Leap aired in syndication thay kept the original theme intact and didn't change it for season 5 and ditto the the generic saga sell voiced by Deborah Pratt. The show would revert back to the original theme arrangement for the series finale of Quantum Leap: Mirror Image Episode!🤔🧐🙄📺

Like @feenix219, I watched most episodes from all five seasons and never remembered hearing the 5th season version of the theme song (which I do not like at all... just my opinion...) but it's good to make sense of this while re-watching the show on DVD.
Yes and speaking of which, Larry Manetti who played Rick on Magnum, P.I. and before that co-starred in Baa Baa Black Sheep appeared in the final season of Quantum Leap when Sam Leaped into a man who is a bigamist

the regular theme from seasons 3, 4 is really great...but I like the season 5 version. A lot. (ducks)
I like both of them actually. This theme is an evolution from the original, but the original itself still holds up. So for me it's a tie.
