      I didn't just start letting them out from start, i started slowly so that they get used to their room and eat properly. I first let them out at evenings, then i go for noon and finally now they are out from the morning to bed time 😌 and they really love being outside.
      They are learning new things daily like yours, now mine also bob whenever we talk like he knows exactly what we are talking 😂 and when i give them chop in morning Rio bobs his head fast if a say that " is it yummy 😋 " they are getting adorable more day by day 🫶

    Perfect timing! I’m going to adopt/rescue another parrot or two. I don’t know when though because I live with other people and I can’t just go in my sisters room and remove things to make space for a bird cage yet (she doesn’t want me to touch her stuff. My dad said I can have another bird and maybe it can go in the living room but I have a dog and that means the bird wouldn’t be able to come out of the cage unless I put her away.) I got my sun conure as a baby so he was sweet and trusting from day one, I was the one afraid of him.

      Tango is in my room so the new bird can’t go in there.

      I would definitely wait until you have the ideal space and situation for them as it wouldn’t be fair to them ☺️ I hope you can sort it out and have your second baby but definitely for now, with all due respect, is not them time 🙏🏼

    Not a first time bird owner but got my first Quaker a few days ago, he’s around 16 weeks old and a beautiful grey gradient(I named him kakashi). Everything is going great so far except he likes to bite out of curiosity a lot..😅 it seems that’s all he’s interested in is chomping down on my hands or neck, everything is still very new to him and still figuring everything out. Right now everytime he bites hard, I’ll tell him with a gentle yet stern “no biting” and put him in his cage for a few minutes and get him back out. Hopefully he realizes “biting hard = no playtime”

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse 10 месяцев назад +2

      KAKASHI SENSEIIIIII! 🍥 thats such a perfect name 😂
      When he bites id continue with the stern no but i wouldnt recommend putting him back inside the cage (unless your just putting him ontop) but if your putting him inside and closing the door it may start associating the cage with punishment instead of a safe space ☺️ nonetheless congrats on your new baby 🥹

    You’ve got to interact with the bird on day one. The cage should be used as a safe place but so should you be seen as such hence why interactions outside the cage are extremely important on day one. As far as stepping up, it’s a trick and shall be permission based. Never force a bird to step up. Ask the bird instead “ do you want to step up? “ Birds don’t do commands sorry. There’s gotta be something in it for them. They aren’t people pleasers like dogs.

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse 10 месяцев назад

      Yes you should but not so close. Like i said spend time with them, but from a far so you arnt overwhelming them. Letting them out day 1 can cause them to panic and fly into a window. But again spend lots of time in the room with them

    • @PascaleLaurent81
      @PascaleLaurent81 10 месяцев назад

      @@mimisbirdhousetotally false. Birds have to know from day one you’re safe. As everything is new so are you so they need to know you’re a safe place from the moment you have them. Day one. This is coming from reputable sources, bird trainers. Birdtricks. Look them up.

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@PascaleLaurent81 i also said as well if your bird gets comfortable even if its day you can proceed to the next step, but not every bird is comfortable day 1 and there have been very anxious birds who get out, panic and smack into something, then when u try and save them they panic more because they dont know you. Ive had birds comfortable day 1, like my quaker and sun. Ive had past rescues who have not, like my cockatiel. You gotta use your own judgement

    Hello, thanks u for the video! I have a baby quaker parrot (he is around 3-4 months old) who was hand raised by a breeder. It's been already a month and he's still extremely terrified by hands. he always comes to me, sits on the shoulder, gives kisses etc... but if a hand is near he starts to be very aggressive and scared. Any tips? I really don't know what to do to make him more confortable

    • @mimisbirdhouse
      @mimisbirdhouse 10 месяцев назад +2

      Pretty much what was said in the video in the part about food and associating your hand with something positive and closing in the space. Maintain a distance at first and slowly get closer. Sounds like he might have been mishandled as a baby giving him so hand trauma
