I love this video, it means so much to me. I thought I was pretty much alone in america until I saw these funny videos. I had no idea that Friends were like this.
I was brought here by an article that I found on the Still Going Somewhere RUclips Channel. This is a wonderful video. I am so glad you sharerd it after making it.
Fun, "killer," laser-beam of love and people power and really well done! I get the references to "What´s George Fox Say?"!!!!! Much love and solidarity from a "Cambridge-" grad UU, part-Quaker, from NYC now based in Brazil. Check out Jim Wallis´ Sojo.net!
I love the idea of Quakers, I have read up on it some and even attended a meeting (or whatever they're called) once when I lived by one but I feel like I don't know enough about it. I know there is tons of info out there to read and I have some but I just don't have much spare reading time (with homeschool, classes I'm taking, ect I'm way behind on reading as is). Is there a documentary or something I watch to learn more? I can't read in the evenings because I'll fall straight asleep but I can watch a documentary. TIA
***** Here are some videos about Quakerism... • A fun video about the early history of the Quaker movement: vimeo.com/68490980 • The folks from SoulPancake interviewing a Quaker: ruclips.net/video/t3v3sHk1ULY/видео.html • There is a channel called QuakerSpeak, with weekly videos about Quakerism: quakerspeak.com - Their videos include What to Expect in Quaker Meeting for Worship: ruclips.net/video/hxjH4sa2RFI/видео.html - They also include a more detailed account of how Quakerism began: ruclips.net/video/hxjH4sa2RFI/видео.html • And finally, there is another video series called Jewels of Quakerism, which are videos from a class taught at a Quaker retreat center about what makes the Quaker way unique and useful: jewelsofquakerism.org Hope those help! Let me know if you watch and of them and what's useful to you. Peace, Ben
***** I'd also recommend "Brother Outsider," about one Quaker, Bayard Rustin, practicing his faith in the midst of the 20th century. And he even helped Martin Luther King discover nonviolent resistance. In any events, I wish you luck in your seeking.
Ok I get it . I wanted to know the TRUTH and The Lord saved me and I am finding the truth in His word. We all make our own choices and are responsible for them . Thank you !
With the (back then recently) newly published King James Bible, any literate English could read the Lord's Word for themselves, not needing a human intercessor to read and interpret it to them. Fox's revelation was that "Jesus had come to teach his people himself" . Some Friends are of the opinion that we have gone beyond that "Christian stuff", but the truth is, all Quaker testimonies can be found to be Biblically based. Yes, there is more to the Quaker faith than "merely" the Bible and Jesus' sacrifice, but you and I would not be having this conversation without those two people: Jesus and Fox.
Yes, Quakers are a type of Christian, although there are a minority who would not profess that. The book(s) are important to us, but not as much as the Light/Spirit.
Of course! A majority of Quakers are African and Quakers arose in Europe, but there are Quakers on every continent (except maybe Antartica). Let me know if you want help finding a meeting!
I miss in person Quaker Meetings... The handshaking at the end had me in tears!

I hear you, Rebecca! You are not alone in missing this, for sure!

Hilarious! Who knew Quakers were so much fun?! And a great message and one that I will be sharing in my classroom, thanks for doing this!
Love the stuffed plush fox the woman on the front row has. Also the guy in the 17th century garb with the hula hoop. Very clever.
Brilliant! Love it! Quaker On!
