Millie Palmer of course there’s more to her and women in general than just looking pretty but the point is usually when people suffer from acid attacks it’s much more obvious and they don’t look much like themselves anymore. Of course she went through a lot but if she had to look in the mirror and see a face that looked nothing like it used to her self confidence would probably be much worse. She even said she would cover herself. It’s a horrible thing that happened to her but at least in terms of how it physically affected her it could have been worse.

I personally cherish my scars, because although they remind me of a very painful time in my life, the fact that they're healed is a symbol that things can and do get better when you have the strength to keep living. I hope she and everyone with scars can see that, too. Especially with scars that healed as beautifully as hers from such horrible burns, it’s an even greater symbol of strength and hope.

In a lot of secluded communities there is a lot of sexism, and when she came she was probably looked at as an outsider, and she was educating women too, so they probably felt threatened by that.
@@eva1937 that's right in my country is different outsider are treated like a celebrity with respect , but you still have to watch you back whenever you go as an outsider people can sometime be friendly fake

If you re a young foreign girl.. don’t go walking around in 3rd world countries you re unfamiliar with (ie didn’t grow up in) thinking you re untouchable.. I ve been on a few medical missions and I always see this.. like if they take a few pictures with some poor 3rd world kids everything is gonna be ok..

What kind of a world do we live in where #1. someone would do an acid attack and #2. that it's become so common that mainstream media responds by telling you what to do if you are victim of an acid attack. Totally sick!
