Thank you sooo much for finding this!! I was 10 when this occurred and remember it vividly. I was outside and ran in to tell my dad and his friends but no one believed me! A few days later we had a storm that for years they called " Super storm". It lasted many hours and stayed right over the Twin Cities. It dropped a total of 13" of rain. That was one of the most interesting tornadoes because it displays very clearly single suction vortex, vortex breakdown and helical vortex surrounding the breakdown area or as some tornado scientists call the breakdown bubble area.

Actually the Super Storm was 1 year later in July of 1987. As stated this was in July of 1986.
