  • Story Of Dhritarashtra and Pandu's Illegitimate Birth
    Vichitravirya lost his life early and his two wives were left childless. Once again, the throne was left without a king and the crown without an owner. Satyavati tried to persuade Bhishma to ascend the throne but Bhishma didn’t agree. She even tried to free Bhishma from her father’s promises made during her wedding with Shantanu, but in vain. Bhishma’s vow was firm. He already had decided to serve the throne for a lifetime, but not to ascend it as a king. Satyavati’s worries increased multifold as there was no heir to the throne. One day, Satyavati called Bhishma and asked him to invite sage Krishna Dwapayan. Bhishma followed the instructions and personally went to bring the sage. The matted locked and dark-complexioned ascetic with long beard and firmness in his eyes, Krishna Dwapayan came to Hastinapur on the request of Satyavati. Satyavati asked for his help. She asked him to bless the queen Ambika with the future king of Hastinapur. Initially the sage was reluctant, but he couldn’t refuse the request of Satyavati.

    A humble request to change the 'illegitimate' term used in the title. Pandu and Dhritrashtra weren't the illegitimate children of their mothers. They were born through Niyog from Ved Vyas and though he was their biological father, as per shastras, the woman's husband would be considered their father so they can't be called illegitimate.

      So there can't be bad in Vedas? Vedas portray both bad and good. Also, there is noone who is 100% good. Everyone has shades in them. In today's social set-up, it's known as illegitimate child (although I don't agree of that derogatory term), but had legal & social sanction in Hindu scriptures and even considered sacred in some cases.
      Yeah, I do agree that they could've put 'Niyoga' children instead of 'illegitimate'. But it's not like they are disrespecting Hindu scriptures or Hinduism. We aren't that shallow.

    The root cause of Mahabharatha was the greed of Satyavati's father who wanted the throne of Hastinapur for his grandson and also Shanthanu's desire to marry Satyavati. But it was destiny and part of the divine plan.

    This is the true Hindu channel spreading the teachings and lores of Hinduism, unlike those hateful Hindutva channels. Those channels made me averse to religion while you bring me closer to it's teachings. Kudos, keep up the good work! 👏🏼Thank You! 🙏🏼

    Content idea: Make vids about stories of nakshatra with each pada in details
    Each nakshatra as 4 padas, and has a different stories. Also tell about name according to birth nakshatra.

    Krishna dwapayan is Veda Vyasa born to satyavathi and parasara Rishi. That is why Veda vyasa was unable to disobey his mother. Satyavathi was the biggest villain in Mahabharata and the trend continued with kauravas including dridharashta…

    • @aniketsalgaonkar
      @aniketsalgaonkar 5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi bro. She wasn't the villain actually. If you see from larger perspective, she was selfish in her young days when she married king Shantanu but as she grew old she got wiser and also she saw the death of her husband and two sons in the process. This made her more desperate to have an heir to Hastinapur. Hence she made some haste decisions which if weren't made then the Mahabharata 's' story wouldn't have progressed. So in a way, it was fate which made her a means to play out the cosmic plan and if you analyse her lifespan she actually lost everything before retiring from her palace life and moving to the forest.
