  • Welcome to ORPHANetwork’s ‘Month in a Minute' recap for June. Here you'll find more details about our recap:
The One for One Challenge launched in June to help bring awareness to children facing food insecurity. We'd love to challenge YOU to take the challenge! visit orphanetwork.org/oneforonecha... to learn more.
Children’s Day (June 9) was a fun day with special celebrations held by many of our local church partners. It's always a blessing to see the children having a chance to be children!
Child Safeguarding Training is a core part of our programming. Some of our staff traveled more than 2,000 km roundtrip from Managua to Puerto Cabezas and Waspam to visit our partners' programs and conduct training on this extremely important topic.
We are halfway through the school year, so that means it’s time to measure our children’s progress in the After School Education Program. The Early Grade Reading & Math Assessments (EGRA & EGMA) were administered in Managua & the Pacific area churches. The children love showing off what they've learned during these bi-annual assessments. In July, we’ll administer the mid-year tests in the southern and northern parts of the country.
Pastor Hamilton Smith of St. Thomas’ Anglican Church in Charleston, South Carolina, spent a week with Iglesia de Dios de la Profecía, St. Thomas' church partner on the remote southern coast of Rivas.
Father's Day in Nicaragua (June 23) In a country where many fathers are absent from their children’s lives, it is such a blessing to recognize the fathers in our ministry who give their all to the Lord, to their families, and to their calling so that their children can follow in their footsteps.
The rainy season, Nicaragua's winter, usually begins in May and ends in November.
At the start of June, the country had not received the normal rainfall that crops require to grow. We shared prayer requests for rain, and oh boy has God blessed Nicaragua with rain.
Now we need Him to slow down the rains so the ground can dry, and the growing season can flourish.
We thank you for praying with us, and for fueling this mission!
