My friend, I'm also running a carbon fiber bump helmet for airsoft, I'm running it with sordins, my goggles, a gopro, and things like that. However, mine cost me only 180 bucks new, but it just wasn't made by a proper "real steel" name brand like yours is. Now here's the kicker - One of my friends bought a bump helmet from Team Wendy that cost him 550 bucks, but his is made from some kind of flexible plastic, so I worry that his sordins wouldn't make a proper seal around his ears simply because the helmet flexes and doesn't build up enough pressure, and therefore I prefer my cheap-o carbon helmet over the expensive Team Wendy any day of the week. So when it comes to bump helmets, I don't understand the appeal of these very expensive name brand bump helmets. Maybe the rails and NV mount are of higher quality, but in no parallel universe does that justify the price honestly. Please enlighten me if I'm missing something!
May i add, get a surplus ACH, go to kustom ach(he has a website). He will cut your lowcut helmet in either midcut or highcut, or super highcut. All of your choice. Also, learn the difference of kevlar vs plythylene helmets. Oxide on youtube is a great source to learn from.
Yes. Damn.... I bought two ballistic helmets from my local surplus store for 100$ seven years ago. MSA IIIA. I miss the days when surplus gear was stupid affordable.
Good deal! I set my NVG up on a bump helmet as well from another company and am dealing with the M-Loc adaptors that are such a pain. The Arc Rails are the industry standard at this point.
I bought a Kevlar ballistic helmet with a light attachment and new padding for $20 at a yard sale. It needed a new chin strap $35 on Amazon. Also a flak vest (no plates) for another $20. Vet recently discharged getting rid of gear. Nice man, I made a friend.
My favorite helmet strap is the leather one the Marines use. I got my ballistic helmet for about $200 surplus and purchased my own accessories. Ur ballistic helmet also provides frag protections. Very important.
I just turned 18, and bought a new airsoft-15 with a red dot and 500 pellets. For now that’s all I can afford, but I’m excited to be getting into air soft

I bought a OpsCore FAST XP High Cut for just under $1,500 a couple years ago, felt that a ballistic helm would be more useful than a bump, and might need less counter weights. I’ll learn more when about NVGs when I get a monocular lol
I am super happy with Premier Armor, my west is from them and it`s lllA+, incredibly happy with those and it was around 600 dollars pluss import to NO. I really want the helmet now hehe.
For those who still don’t want to drop all those coins, try your local army navy surplus. Quite often they will have one or two MICH style helmets. Not all are rated up to 3A, some are, but they are cheap and will still provide adequate protection from most things
Just like a plate carrier, a ballistic helmet isn't always nessisary. If you're doing mountain things or night vision things helmets are still useful. If you can get both, get both. If you need both but can only get one go ballistic. If you honestly only need a bump helmet, then just get that
@@Samurai_rabbit yea unfortunately need a bump after taking a bad concussion after a training accident & if you’re doing allot of work on motor bikes 4x4 even vehicles when you crash or brake hard the extra weight destroys the neck so for in combat full coverage Kevlar helmet is the way in my opinion
