Prevue Music - Opening Act

- Out of all the music used in the history of EPG/Prevue Guide/Prevue Channel/TV Guide channel, this song definately holds the most nostalgia to viewers. This is "Opening Act" from the early days of the Prevue Channel (1993).
Matthew from the TWCclassics site managed to get a copy of the full track (which was thought to be pretty much impossible, given that the production company went out of business years ago). RUclips user SuperAdventures was the first to upload it on RUclips, and I'm uploading his video to my channel for archival purposes.

"Opening Act" is from the James & Aster album UCR-01 - Lift Me Up.
I've been trying my best to remember to search for this-this song is awesome! I was merely but 8 years old *is 25 now*, and I remember listening to the Prevue Channel JUST to hear this song! When it changed, I was a bit heartbroken... I am glad to see it is back, even if it is only on RUclips!

Wow...just wow...I can't believe this is on youtube. This song has been in my head ever since I was a young kid. I'm 25 now...WOW!

This was my favorite of all Prevue Guide/Channel themes. Close second is the original, which they still used for Prevue Tonight at this time.

This reminds me a lot of the Mega CD BIOS music
I hated when they replaced this music with the country music-esque one they used for a few weeks before going to a permanent replacement.

I used to leave the tv on all night to listen to this while I was sleeping
@Tararini Seriously, I was 8 or 9 at the time and I did the same damn thing! I even tried to record it with my boombox, but ads kept interfering with my favorite part (the dramatic breakdown at 1:25). I ended up trying to sing it instead, for archival purposes, and every few years I find the tape and listen.
Loved prevue as background music.

So what kind of music would you call this anyway? Synthpop, or just instrumental synth music? Either way, I love this music, mainly for the nostalgic value it has. Brings back memories of when I was a kid.

I used to sneak girls into my house at midnight in high school and we'd go to my room and watch this channel and somehow left it on while we did the dirty deed :D
It sounds like a variation of the original Prevue Guide music.
