I was there long before the deck existed. We could walk up to the opening and see the glow worms that live on the walls. Got to see the bat researchers doing a count at both entrances.
I thought I would share that yes I had experience with working with wildlife removing brown bats from New London elementary School here in North Carolina it was pretty awesome seeing how those bats were collected and released still amazes me today that's been over 25 years ago ❤
I flew down to visit my son and daughter a few yrs. ago in Austan, Texas. I wanted to see their giant population of bats comming out, but we didn't get around to it. Hope to though some day. Always liked bats. Saved alot over the years. First being back in the 1960's as a child. Found a baby bat in the yard and bottle fed it. It squeaked when I came into my bedroom, but not so much or at all when other came in. I remember I let it go on 4th of July, not thinking about all the booms that would make it's first night frighting till it was to late. Bet there was no bugs biting as the bats came out in that cave!
Ooh, I have always wanted to go see the one in Austin and at Carlsbad Caverns too. We've been to Carlsbad twice but both in winter/spring before the bats start flying out. If you are ever near Scottsboro, Alabama this one is well worth the visit.
This is an amazing spectacle to behold. What great footage. I must say, to see it with your own eyes is incredible. The smell, sound and feeling are unreal. This is something that all people will find amazing, caver or not. This video was excellent but still can't due the justice for seeing it in person. I would highly recommend folks to go there and see it for themself. You will NOT be disappointed. It is an experience like no other. If you are ever down this way, it's a must SEE! Please respect ALL The RULES and don't be stupid and try to get into the cave. There are plenty of caves to see in this area, but NOT this one. I support this great work. Thank you (won't use your name) for a Great post.
Fabulosity!!❤❤❤

Oh cool. I've never noticed the glow worms there before, I will definitely have to check that out next time I am there and look for them.
