  • In this tutorial, I will guide you through the process of manually creating a backup of your WordPress website using DirectAdmin. This manual backup method is helpful for those who prefer more control over the backup process. Here's a summary of the steps involved:
Access DirectAdmin: Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel using your credentials.
Navigate to File Manager: Once logged in, locate and click on the "File Manager" option in the control panel. This will open the file management interface.
Select Your Website Directory: In the file manager, navigate to the directory where your WordPress website files are stored. Typically, this is located in the "public_html" folder.
Compress Files: Select all the files and folders related to your WordPress website and then compress them into a single archive. You can use the built-in compression tools in DirectAdmin to create a zip or tar.gz archive.
Download the Archive: After compression is complete, download the compressed archive to your local computer. This archive contains all the website files needed for the backup.
Export Database: Access your WordPress database through the DirectAdmin control panel. Use phpMyAdmin or a similar tool to export the database associated with your website. Save the exported database as a .sql file.
Download the Database Backup: Once the database export is complete, download the .sql file to your local computer. This file contains all the data from your WordPress site's database.
Securely Store Backups: Make sure to securely store both the file and database backups. You can keep them on your local computer and, for added security, consider copying them to an external storage device or a cloud storage service.
By following these steps, you will have manually created a backup of your WordPress website using DirectAdmin. It's essential to regularly perform these backups to ensure the safety and recoverability of your website in case of unexpected issues or data loss.
