the second screen changes size depending on overall brightness on the screens. a lot of crt's do that and it was what i disliked about crt's, usually it's just pretty small. but I think it's just some cap that starts going bad that will make it worse and worse. someone with more experience could explain which part it is and why it affects gun deflection on a crt like that.

Not sure if you're aware, CRT screens need to be discharged before they get worked on otherwise you can shock yourself to death if you touch them.
