Two questions: 1. In what way does the Orb differ to the Rossignol Experience 86 ti? 2. Which would fit the bill best when it comes to Black Crows playful frontside carvers? So, able to carve hard turns for 80% of the use, but also able to start playing around, maybe going a little bit on and off. Trying to jump a bit more and starting with the first 180s? Divus, Orb, Serpo?
1. The 86 is more of a complete ski in that it has more versatility as well as a higher-end feel. The Orb is interesting in that it has a pretty long turn radius, and that's somewhat unique in this category. 2. I don't think of the Orb as playful, so I'd lean more to Divus and Serpo for that application. The big difference here is the width, with the Serpo being about 10 mm wider overall than the Divus. If you're looking for quick turns, agility, and edge grip, I'd lean to Divus, but for more versatility and a more rockered ski with better playfulness, the Serpo is awesome.
Pretty similar use of metal, but the Orb is quite a bit heavier and bulkier. If you're on-trail more often than not, I'd lean to the Orb. It also has a longer turn radius, so it's more comfortable at speed. The K2 is more versatile and a better all-mountain choice. Have fun! SE
So im searching for a ski, wich is pretty stive on the pist, i can carve with, go high speed with but the ski stays still calm, moreover also for a ski I can go beside the pist sometimes, that is fun and also a little bit playfull. Do you think that the orb would be the perfect ski for me and if not wich ski would you recomend?
Orb is awesome. Heavy and straight, there's not a lot like it. If you like the speed and the stability of a ski, I think it's a fantastic option. Not so great with playfulness, you just have to work a bit harder to get it. Volkl Kendo and Nordica Enforcer 88 also fit that bill, they're just not as straight as the Orb.
@@SkiEssentialsat the first thanks for the reply, it helped me allready so much. But Ialso tought about the atomic q9.8, I saw the video about this one, how you said in there, its a really good ski for carving, but can you go with it beside the pist (would be logical for me because of the large middle width)
The funny thing about the Orb is the longer turn radius. That stands out against the shorter turning Serpo. There's more metal in the Orb as well, so it definitely feels more like an on-trail specific ski while the Serpo has more versatility built in.

How do these compare with last years orb? Any major difference?
Nope, basically the same Orb, just a new look.
How would you compare it to the K2 Mindbender 90ti ?
