Thanks for this video. It's a simple one but for some reason found it very helpful in thinking about how to use my volume pedal (on a lap steel, not a pedal steel).
Thanks for your video. Your pedal seems to have a long course from bottom to top and it has sound even at its lower which seems to be a lot more suitable for the steel. It has a pot to adjust that ? All pedals don't have that option and i'm about to buy one (Hilton low profile) but it doesn't seem to have that option... And yours is a Zumsteel which i don't find on internet. Do you have a suggestion ? Thank you !!!
Great vid pal! So, I want to get a lap steel...coming from a piano/guitar background. I want to enjoy that country sound without getting tot crazy with the pedal steel. But I still want to BEND...so I thought I could apply a couple of Duisenberg benders and a volume pedal to a lap steel. Do you think that it a good idea? I do know all of the limitation of such a modification VS an actual pedal steel. BUT nonetheless it might be kind of a compromise for someone who doesn't want to get too crazy with the instrument anyway. However, I wonder if the model you are using in the video is actually simple and comparable to a modified lap steel. in that case I would just buy that! Thank you very much!
skellez83 Don't know if you're still in the game for steeling, but I modified a lap steel with Duesenberg multibenders, and it was great! Started withe 2 benders, added 2 more, and pretty soon after that added pedals and a knee lever using bicycle brake cables. So it's a pedal steel now :) Easy to play though, with only 6 strings, 2 pedals and 1 knee lever!

Extremely well explained! Thank you!
You expressed this very very well
