One really interesting thing I notice about Skunk - he never puts another musician down. Really an admirable quality. And what a great guitarist!

And Skunk never talks gossip about others and the problems they may have. Old school.

Skunk is still one of the coolest dudes in music. I dig his playing so much and could listen to him talk about his career for days. What a musician! Total legend!!

Denny's guitar solo (1st one) on Boddisatva was the most smokin' guitar solo in the Steeley Dan catalog for me. Denny was a blistering jazz guitarist with a quick mind and fast fingers.

Jim Hodder also did the lead vocal on Midnight Cruiser from Can't Buy A Thrill, a favorite of mine from that album.

The guitar playing/tone on 'King Of The World' by Steely Dan is legendary.

Always liked the skunks pedal steel trips too...he knows how much and his feel is right on! Such a modest man for his experience in / of music

The thing that I found astounding about Denny Dias was that on "Do It Again" he did a solo on a sitar, even though he had never played one before, and that is amazing because it is not an easy instrument to play. Denny and Brian Jones are two of the only guitar players I know of that could play one, although there are probably others.

It wasn't an actual sitar, it was a Coral Electric Sitar which is strung & played like a 6-string guitar. So Dias was essentially just playing a guitar. It was still a brilliant solo.

Denny Dias is the best guitarist nobody ever heard of. There are guitar solos that blow your mind and the one on Do It Again is mind blowing to me. I’ve heard people call it mesmerizing and it truly is.

They both were next level players, yet the band progressed beyond anyone player. And Jeff's opinion of Dennys playing is dead on accurate.

The weirdest thing about Steely Dan is that their first drummer was Chevy Chase.

When I found out that Baxter is an avid Trump supporter, it broke my heart and I never looked at him quite the same way again. That's totally contrary to what the 1960's/70's was all about. Period, over and out.
