One of the best live performances, even though some of the polyphony was neglected and rushed over - this was played alongside selections of Sorabji and Szymanowski in a monstrous 1.5 hour recital... certainly inhuman playing

I know he can do it better. Looking forward to listening to the re-take.

The recording he posted on his channel some months prior is better in my opinion. At least for the 3rd mvt. He is far more accurate and powerful.

Thank you for your suggestion. I noticed that recording only now! Yes, that one was far better with rich nuance and accuracy. loved it.

He didn’t take this performance seriously at all, which is a shame cause with effort into the intepertation he can make a stunning recording

his n6 is definitely rushing, that i cannot notice whole context of the piece. monotonous, firmly, untouchable.

The level of technique is impressive, but in my opinion this is an example of why faster does not mean better.

That is the most impossible thing I have ever seen! His virtuosity is mostrous! But i still prefer Hamelin's ingterpretation, the voices are heard better in his tempo and there is more energy, but still, this interpretation is so astonishing and tremendous!!

    • @ryzikx

huang is still under 25 and hamelin is arguably the best living pianist, so he has time to improve

    • @Jartious

@teodorb.p.composer Me too, but his performance of the fugue is my favourite out of everyone. Especially the part where it goes ballistic, I think the tempo makes it sound really cool and menacing.

Atrocious performance. The playing is inaccurate and rushed and most of the polyphonic material is neglected. It's not humanly possible to play this piece at this tempo

Atrocious is a bit too much to say, but I agree that most of the polyphonic ideas are neglected. The tempo is fine, he just had the wrong material/the wrong ideas, and it's still a very valid performance.
