Almirante Reis has been my go to spot in Funchal for years! Super easy to get to when coming in from outside of Funchal. Just get off the highway and head straight towards the city Center. Just keep going and it brings you right to the entrance!!!! Super easy. Park and walk everywhere!!!

Good day Jeff thanks for a wonderful series its very enlightening. I am hopefully coming to Madeira next year and what i hope to do is hike around the island anti clockwise along the coast is it possible. It will be over 55years since i was there last i was too young to remember much came by ship at that time and what a job getting ashore. My portuguese is limited although i am the son of Madeiran parents they did not teach me their language. I have a home in Moniz and have a place to stay in Funchal.

Thank you for the informative video. How does one know which is a residence parking as now days very few parking spaces have 'M" in them.
Hey Jaime! Yeah totally forgot to mention that !! Yeah, the residence parking is usually white lines, signaled with a capital “M”. If you see a white line with no M, or no sign saying otherwise, it’s free

Hi Jeff, we've been watching and enjoying your channel for sometime now as we have a trip planned for Madeira next month. Here in the UK I run a small RUclips motorcycle touring channel and we were hoping to film when we visit. Can you tell me if a helmet mounted camera is legal or allowed to be used while riding the roads in Madeira? We are certainly aware of restrictions on car dash cams in Portugal and certainly don't want to break any laws. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. We also have a drone we are hoping to use.

In Madeira with family (4 of us) 5-9 Dec. Want to have a sightseeing of the best parts of island. Previously used Green Dragon jeep up the dirt track but want to avoid the bumpy ride. Anyway, what price for a private tour for 4 people taking in the main spots with minimal walking as we getting old now! To include stops for lunch. Would love to have dinner in Camara de Lobos for sunset then back to Funchal town accommodation. So a whole day say from 9 am to 9p? Can tou quote?
Hi Andrew, at the moment all I have available is on the 6th. I usually do not like doing such long tours ... I usually only do one tour a day with a maximum of 8 hours (remember we still have to prepare the car before as well as wash it after) so for 12 hours, I would quote you for 2 full day tours. I would prefer not to discuss prices here so if you are interested, please email us. yes?

Does parking charges in Funchal apply everyday including Sunday? 🧐
Not sure if I mentioned it, from Saturday afternoon it changes in some places to free, on Sunday as well. But only blue lines, the parking lots will be paid
Where we can park if our hotel can't provide parking place? I mean for the night.
Better you ask the hotel ;)
Do you use any credit card to pay park?
Some places now have, but not everywhere, cash is better

As far as I know there’s no dedicated parking spots for rental cars. You need to park on the blue lines, and pay the parking. Enjoy Madeira! ✌️🤠

I have watched almost all your videos. It is a real big help. Interesting would be a hotel tour. present advertise hotels pros and cons. At the moment I am looking at either do carmo or pestana ocean bay... ;)
@@rainermaier5800 I would prefer Ocean Bay, but only because it’s closer to the beach and away from the city centre (more quiet) but you will need to take a taxi/bolt or whatever to get into town, and yes I hope to do more hotel videos soon :)) enjoy Madeira!!
