    My pageant tips as an avid pageant fan.
    - If there’s so much detail on your dress try to lessen the accessories and wear a simplest hair possible. Balance is the key. On the other hand its appropriate to wear accessories or big hair once your wearing a solid color/simple dress.
    - Gowns that has no train can help you walk freely. Look at all the Miss Colombia’s in Miss Universe those dresses were the perfect length.
    - Match your shoes with the color of your dress or accessories so it can look more seamless and effortless.
    - Avoid too much high slit. We want the judges to look at your face when presenting in an evening gown not to distract them.
    - Red lipcolor is glamorous but it can make your lips more thinner if you have a thin lips. Nude lipcolor with a hint of gloss can make you look more fresh.
    - Don’t force a smile or movements. Walk freely, be confident and own that stage.
    - Your movements and gestures during break can influence the judges. Be natural and confident.
    - Have fun!

    Speaking of gowns I’ve watched EVERY Miss USA , Teen USA , America, World, Universe etc every year since 1993, BIG FAN! My favorite three gowns if y’all want to check them out is Miss South Dakota USA 2016 , Miss Russia 2002 “ who won and was dethroned 😰“ and Miss Columbia 2008 1st runner up to Dayna Mendoza, all three very unique and couture in my opinion 👍👍👍🙋🏻‍♂

    Age appropriate gowns is exactly what I'm confused about. My 10-year-old just competes into a small, local pageant (no talent or interview). I bought her a nice gown that was A-Line and had it tailored to fit her. Keep in mind that I had no pageant training or experience myself other than videos like yours. Her dress was so small compared to the massive, Gone With The Wind, hoop skirt, frou-frou dresses. All of the dresses in her division were so big, they had to squeeze through the door ways. Remember that scene from the movie Enchanted? It reminded me of that scene.
    It made me wonder if she could have the best of both worlds by having a mermaid or trumpet style. Nothing skin tight or anything, just more of a slimmer fit to stand out. My daughter will be 11 in July and is almost 5'3", so a slimmer fitting gown could make her look taller, slimmer, and not so squatty.
    My little one had a blast and wants to do more pageants!

    • @alexamarie4648
      @alexamarie4648 Год назад

      Ik this comment was from awhile ago but if it's still something you're thinking about I would absolutely advise you to not consider a mermaid dress for that age division. It's just not a great silhouette for younger girls and ages her up a little. On the note of the hoop skirts, was it a glitz pageant? natural beauty pageants trend towards more sleek styles while glitz is generally the bigger the better. Hope this helps!!!

    This video is helpful, not only for beauty pageants but also for other formal events. In Mexico, regardless of the pageant organization it seems like the dress is the weak point for many mexican beauty queens except in very few occasions; for example the white and gold dress made by Nohe Soto that Débora Hallal, the candidate from Mexico wore at the preliminary competition in Miss Universe 2021 got stuck on one of her heels and it look she didn't practice with it.
