    If only there was some sort of restraining system that would keep occupants inside their seat during a violent impact. Some sort of movement arresting strapping.

      There’s something called a seatbelt

    • @greeneyes92061
      @greeneyes92061 5 лет назад +41

      IF there was something more than a windshield and a seatbelt.....it would require the person to actually USE it. This was obviously a very very violent crash (and I do not know the details)....the way he came flying out of that car makes me wonder if he was even wearing a seatbelt. In the description it says he survived....by were there permanent life changing injuries? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just don’t understand why people speed like that....was he impaired (alcohol or drugs); was he having a medical emergency? So many questions....so many possible variables.....it’s just tragic any way you look at it.

    • @Hobby_trails_family
      @Hobby_trails_family 5 лет назад +51

      The seat belts are for strapping down the seats.... So that the occupants can fly out on their own. This avoids seats coming off and hurting the occupants

    • @The_Great_Depression
      @The_Great_Depression 6 месяцев назад +6

      Okay, I agree, but I’d like to add; UNLESS THEYVE CODED/stopped breathing/cardiac arrest. At that point, that becomes the more life threatening thing and needs to be treated despite risk of further bone/nerve damage/paralysis. You gently as possible get them flat on their back and do life saving measures (if you know how to properly do cpr) until help gets there.
      I watched a friend day of being shot to death, but not instantly. He spoke, was scared, his lungs began filling with blood as i tried to get 911 on the phone and we heard the death rattle. I didn’t do CPR when he stopped breathing because I wasn’t sure if I would make the internal bleeding worse or collapse his lung if it’s full. I found out later you always try cpr if you feel able because saving their life is the end goal when you arrive at an emergency, preventing further damage is obviously ideal but secondary to saving them unless they’ve previously stated otherwise in an advanced directive or DNR form. My friend died in our arms and since then I’ve learned a lot about emergency triage for different things, because if I can do anything to prevent it, I never wanna see another person die like that

    There are several things that contributed to the survival of both occupants. 1. The structure of modern vehicles are better equipped to cope with violent impacts. 2. The gaurdrail he ran into was designed to collapse, acting as a second crumple zone on impact. In the video it collapsed the entire length. 3. It was likely the airbag, shattered the windshield before the driver hit flew out of it causing significantly less trauma. 4, he didn’t hit anything on his way back into earth and his head did not appear to take the brunt of the impact upon return to asphalt.

      Camera has a completely different perspective than people at ground level. It's quite possible that no one even saw the guy get ejected at the point of impact. If you watch the tollbooth attendant that finally sees him, he's more than a little shocked to see a body lying there (though I would have immediately gone to check his condition).

      Also, here's something you apparently may not know; most people don't know how to react in extreme situations they haven't encountered before. Especially ones that involve sudden violent events. It's completely understandable and common to take more than a moment or two to figure out what to do.
      In addition, you should NEVER move an injured person like that unless you are a trained medical professional. You could cause a lot more damage.
