Common experiences, needs, and priorities bridge the gap of language.
For 33 years I lived in a California city that had a significant number of only Spanish-speaking folks; I have zero facility for anything but English (and I have tried, believe me!). Nevertheless, I'm wicked good at pantomime and reading people so I got along just fine with my neighbors because we were all in the same boat; same needs, same values, same joys.
It's politicians and profiteers who want to keep us apart, to divide us. I refuse to play their game.

People are just people. We all in this world have more in common than we different from one another. Everyone loves their mom, dad, children, family. We all love food, we all have to go to the toilet, we all laugh, cry and experience happiness with the same events. Everyone's blood is red, everyone needs oxygen, everyone needs friendship. These are all the basics in life, and we all have them in common.
But the politics divide us, just by pointing out the small differences we have. Just because the neighbour drinks his tea with sugar makes him a bad person, because you dislike sugar. The neighbour might have a bad taste, but thats it.
I hope one day, we as people can leave war behind us and find a way to explore new worlds in space. Sharing knowledge and technology.
