I think that these were some of my favorites in the New Timeline, I would've really liked to see some of them even come back namely 7 to represent the 7 different continents. -Axel -Mordred Hood -Conquering Storm -Akhulut -Clove and Cassia -Thunderbolt -Maw -Witchcart and Battle Kuku XV are already game characters. -Tundra's character existed to tie in to Rotor's character as his unsporting and disappointed father. -Nephtus' character existed to point out the Hero/Villain cycle along with the Desert Raiders as they played both sides of the conflict hoping to stop the cycle out of fear of the people affected by it. -Abyss' character was tied into the Pirates of the Setting Dawn(who were the last of the comic original characters included at the end of Archie) and neither were expanded upon entirely due to cancellation, another thing I liked about these characters were how they tied into Razor the Shark's character. I miss them.
Another fun fact about Maw is that it’s theorized that he would’ve been the catalyst for Archie’s take on the Metal Virus arc. Yes, the Metal Virus arc was supposed to happen in the Archie Comics Sonic universe, before it got cancelled and Ian then pitched the idea to IDW. The “new roboticizer” he mentions at the end of Eggman’s Dozen is theorized to be what causes the Metal virus.
It's really too bad that the Egg bosses were mostly introduced so late in the series and that now they are trapped with Archie. Thank you for the compliment though! I really enjoy making these videos and positive feedback is always appreciated
It would have been really cool to see more of an Eggman Empire in Sonic Forces, that would have fit the tone of the game well and could have made for interesting boss fights.
I guess that Maw the Thylacine would have been the original perpetrator of the Metal Virus Crisis instead of Dr. Starline in IDW due to the fact that we see him at the ending of SU#86 getting a special robotisizer ready to use on a test subject i.e. (the same foreman that Bunnie Rabbot served under when she was working undercover in StH# 255) under the orders of Dr. Eggman.
Battle lord kuku was the main villan in Tails adventure on gamegear back in the 90s (1995) making him probably the oldest eggboss in the group. (oldest as in made, not age) I should've probably watched the full video before commenting, but hey what can you do?

I did really like how each chracter had different motivations when it came to joining up with Eggman and that very few seemed actually loyal to his cause. (Also black eyed robots are cool :P)
I just discovered your channel, and am slowly working my way through all your Archie videos. Such a nostalgia blast. I grew up reading these comics, starting at the beginning with issue #1, which I got when I was seven. I continued reading up until the book eventually got canceled, and still have all my old issues in a closet somewhere.
I'm glad to hear it! I was honestly taken aback by the amount of people still interested in Archie Sonic when I started. I've been reading your comments and it's funny being reminded of when I started uploading and I wasn't being super diligent and was relying a lot more on my memory. For sure a little embarrassing to relive the little mistakes I made lol.
i still fel its a shame some characters from the pre genesis wave didn't become egg bosses themselves, namely bunnie's uncle and the orca with mind control powers or something (i really like the orca he looked rad)
Why didn’t you talk about the recruited Eggboss Wendy Witchcart? Or the Eggboss Bunnie defeated in her reboot introduction, and was paralyzed by Eggman for it? You do introduce Wendy, but never talk about her joining the Eggbosses.
She was in my original Script actually, the issue is that nothing really happens with her before the comic ended. The flow felt wrong and so I cut her. Tbh I just forgot about any other Eggboss that was paralyzed

But at the same time, his army, while looking somewhat like Thunderbolt’s, it also looks slightly different with the goggles and stuff. #255 The Sonic fandom wiki doesn’t bring him up in the members of the Eggboss leaders, so I guess I’m probably wrong. And just assumed he was an Eggboss because he and his fellow soldiers had similar suits different from other Eggboss groups. (Slightly different tho in Thunderbolt’s case) And that there was room for Wendy. But I’ll have to fully reread the parts of the comic he appears in to make sure.
I'm sad Sega didn't even try to let any of the previous ideas carry over to IDW. Lots of wasted potential here imo, especially when Ian Flynn and other non-insane creatives started taking things in a better direction.
Sorry I didn't do a good enough job for you, my goal was to cover them briefly to keep the video from dragging and honestly I feel like I covered the main beats of the characters. The only part I didn't touch on was the Gaia arc but there isn't much point in that imo. Feel free to share some stuff I lacked on and then others can see that for further information

What I like about Eggbosses is that, you can put them in game universe and they would not feel out of place. Compared to rest of the cast.
Honestly late Archie Sonic was really good at making things that I think could really work well in a video game.
