Me and my son just bought the core set and a couple of the older smaller expansions and are really looking forward to getting into this. I totally agree about resin. Not a fan of it either. Looks great. Thanks for the overview of these. They look really fun.
1:30 Yeah, I was almost out at this point when I realized how much space I would like to have this take up and just gaze at lovingly. Also, I need this to be in the fantasy genre as I just don't have any sci-fi board games other than Nemesis.
I ended up selling my collection because I don't have the space to keep it set up. It's a fantastic game, and if I had a dedicated skirmish table, I would have kept it.
Core Space is my 2nd favorite miniatures game of all time (KOW Vanguard is King). But when I want coop or solo, this is tops. The solo play is so good. I got these expansions and its nice having so much more options, but the AI for these expansions are significantly more complex. So much so that I felt it did take away from the quick flow that made the solo/coop so good in the first place.
I want this game sooo bad. Almost pulled the trigger on it last month a few times, but everything i want works out to be around $500. They emailed me that there will be another Core Space kickstarter this year, so I'll wait till then and hopefully get all I want at slightly lower KS promo pricing along with everything new.
@@wayner396 cool. They aren't offering any special KS bundle on the existing stuff, but the code NEWSITE will give you 5% off on their store and shipping is free if you order over a certain amount
Been on my maybe list for quite awhile. I always seem to get another game instead. Recently picked up Blackstone Fortress when I heard it was going to be discontinued. Not sure where I sit with resin but you can’t beat GW minis for Warhammer etc. Blackstone Fortress minis are excellent.
I think resin can go on the extra details, but are harder to assemble, almost too hard to be worth. I agree with you that Blackstone has great miniatures! I also got Storm Strike and the minis are great with the bling bases! Of my minis, I think GW are the best, but I'm still new to the hobby.
Do you have Core Space First Born? This may be my new favorite game. It’s a lot to get it going but I think the set up time is worth it. I didn’t play the original but I got the Kickstarter for the new one and I love it.
@@TheDungeonDive It’s worth the table space. I really like the first part of the game where you are tiptoeing around trying to avoid sentry robots. I know that there are other stealth board games but usually they punish you for losing stealth, this one just gives you advantage for maintaining it but after your infiltration is discovered it isn’t just run for the door. Also, they now have backpack items so you can expand your inventory if you buy a backpack. It’s very fun, feels like playing Stargate SG1 or Firefly as many moments occur that feel like a shoot ‘em up sci-fi tv show.
@@TheDungeonDive consider getting a piece of plexiglass to lay on top of your table to make it bigger when you need a bigger table and then lean it in the corner when you don’t.
My gaming table is 3x4, and my hobby room is 10x10, and I have to have 3-5 games set up a week to make videos. :) Games that take a long time to set up and take down just don't stay in my collection long. Just the nature of my very small home and doing the Dungeon Dive, and not a judgement call on the game. If I had the space, Core Space would be set up all the time.
I still wonder that you have not played Galaxy Defenders. Yes, I know, we talked about that. But those NPCs there were so fantastic. I am sceptical if the NPCs here could be as great. Nonetheless interesting video. :) It seems that the NPCs in Core Space are more indendent. In GD, they battle for the players, but with their own preferences. ;)
The Dungeon Dive Funny, I just bought the Core Space terrain expansions for my Drowned Earth battlefield a few days ago! Now I noticed your Core Space review from last year and ordered the core game and some expansions right away!!! Very curious to get it on the table!!!

Man, my package with some of the expansions just arrived yesterday. This video hits my total sweet spot right now. Enjoy the expansions!
You, too!
We both like core space, shadows of brimstone and music. I play guitar 🎸 bass

Cool. Bassist here! Rodger Deering is a musician too. Seems like musicians like boardgames too. Core Space is very good. Set up can take some time.
Right on. Rodger and I have briefly talked about working on some music together.

Ug resin... thanks for calling out the cards, I’ve been finding getting the break down surprisingly difficult.

So glad you mentioned the kick started. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

I hope you get that remodeling on your house one day. Good luck with the album.

The only reason I haven’t picked up these is my disdain for resin
Yeah. I understand why they did it, but I don’t like it.
Can I ask why you don't like resin? I have been collecting board games with resin miniatures and wonder what I should look out for.,
Yo just curious, would you sell your rogue purge minis? I’d be willing to drop quite a bit.
I had to sell the game because I don't have enough space to keep it set up.
Where can we find your tunes?!?

Thanks! :)

I no longer have Core Space. Love the game, but had to sell it because I just didn't have the space to keep it set up.

Daniel, don't you feel that the missions are samey? Run in, grab the loot (or a target person), run out before the Purge overwhelms everything?
Yeah they can be. But I always have fun.
I bought the book. The civilians are meh. I’d love to get the Purge but these sets are way too expensive in my opinion.

I really don’t like the look of the game, and I loathed Sword and Sorcery.
The NPCs in CS are totally independent. It’s a great system that adds a feeling of life to the game without adding a ton of complexity.

The terrain so so good, and super affordable me.
The Dungeon Dive Have you already tried Planet Apocalypse or did not have the time?
