Yes he was powerful, yes he was important, yes he technically won the game, but he still lost in the end, and according to the Game of Throne TOS and regulations, written and signed by Queen Cersei of House Lannister, "When you play the Game of Thrones you win or you die". Lord Tywin thus died at the hands of his youngest and cleverest sons. Lord Tywin lost the game half way through unfortunately. But yes I agree, there needs to be a movie about the Reyne and Tarback Rebellion.

Although evil, the person of Lord Tywin deserves to be remembered and learned from. His competence and willpower were both truly extraordinary in the world of Ice and Fire and in our, real world.
With our human nature being corrupted, our will weakened and our mind clouded - few have the virtue to rise and break the chains of mediocrity.
He lacked honor of Eddard Stark.
He lacked piety of Beric Dondarrion.
He lacked love of Catelyn Tully.
He lacked devotion of Stannis Baratheon.
But intelligence and willpower were his.

Honestly, Tywin was probably the best ruler seven kingdoms could have hoped for. Not to say he was a good guy, but he was the most competent ruler the show gave us.

The only aspect of the show, that hasnt deteriorated was the music, it actually got better and better. Kudos to Djawadi, the spoils of war were incredible soundtrack wise

I've been listening to this for days on end and I love the use of music symbolism.
In Casterly Rock and Spoils of War pt1 you can hear the integration of the Targaryen theme with the low string riff!
Ramin used as much symbolism as Martin did and it just creates this amazing art
“Outside the gates” really not getting the hype it deserves. It perfectly conveys the desperation in Tyrion’s voice, trying to get through to Cersei that she won’t win.

Imagine if hbo released a movie for all the major houses and their history’s. And also some other kingdoms like valirya and salvors bay and the free cities. That’d be a dream come true
game of thrones universe pretty much dead, it'll be year 2100 before any of that happens, house of the dragon despite being short took 3 years, and it didn't even catch up to original GoT.

The most interesting house of all of them..when i have 1st watched the show house stark was my favourite. After rewatching got house lannister really made me love got more

My House is Stark. But I love the Lannisters. Very ironic because they are the deadly ennemies. (F the Freys) Tyrion, Jaime, Tywin and Cersei are so memorable. The Stark medley music is a little too peaceful and melancholic. The Targaryen leitmotiv mixed with it was epic, but my favorite is at 38:20. Water tower version of Rains of Castamere is such an epic music.
I don't get it why do people cheer for the Starks. They had the deck stacked in their favour to stop the war that was brewing, but they wasted it. They chose to kill hundreds of thousands of people indirectly when they could have just killed few directly.

Game of Thrones (more accurately, A song of Ice and Fire) was such an epic story that everyone is still trying to prove their point. There's no way one can justify Tywin's way of fighting the war. He was evil, yes sharp-minded but evil and what he did was horrible. At least according to the values, most of us share.
But if we see the real world it is a harsh place as well. There are very few instances in which an honorable person won. Most of the time it is evil.
But can we all simply appreciate this great masterpiece?
I'd say it was overall a greater crime that the Starks who had the deck stacked in their favour completely wasted it. They had the chance to stop the war before it started, but they refused to do it due to their pride. Tywin's way of fighting the war was because he had to clean up the mess Stark pride had left behind. His goal was to end the war as quickly as he could and sure he used some questionable means, but at least he tried to stop the slaughter unlike Starks whos fragile egos couldn't handle the mess they forced on all of the seven kingdoms.

Renly came to Ned and proposed that during the night they would attack Cersei and her kids take them prisoner and thus prevent joffrey from becoming a king in favour of Tommen who would be educated by Ned. Ned answered by saying that it wouldn't be honorable to attack at night against innocent women and children. After that Renly left kingslanding and started to gather his army. After the night was over Ned came to state that Joffrey wasn't a legimate heir and got slaughtered. After that fiasco, the war started. So that's the mess that Tywin had to clean up.

It was because Ned didn't slaughter Tywin's family and still decided to go against them. Ned chose the absolute worst choice. He either could have left Lannisters alone as he was planning to or he should have slaughtered them. And this wasn't even my main point. The thing I really disagreed with was your characterization of Tywin as evil or even as a bad guy. Also you didn't really touch on my disagreements on your statement that "There's no way one can justify Tywin's way of fighting the war." My argument to that was that he simply wanted the war to end as quickly as possible. I would think that would be pretty good justification for Tywin's way of fighting the war.
This song is about the realisation that war isnt about who is right but who is left. Thats why its sad.
