The focus on the struggle of AFRICA while completely ignoring the progress of Africa… There are millions maybe a Billion or 2 that don’t know or can’t even imagine developed cities and neighborhoods like Bole exist in Africa. They can’t comprehend america has balance just like any other country around the world. With that being said it’s interesting you find video/ sign of Ethiopian development boring 🤨🤨

Wow! Thank you for showing us the hinterlands of the Tis Abay area, the gorgeous beauty of the landscape and the unadulterated life of the locals.
What is interesting about this video is that it is not only a “sight-seeing” (showing) video, but also one of those rare documentary accounts on the lives of the rural inhabitants of the region; their fitness/strength, their resilience, their activities, their (cultural) ways, their attires … etc.
The natural beauty, the infectious smile and the sapient enterprise activities of Mertie in the video (6:20-8:45) was one of the things that I cherished the most in this clip. (The amiable, assertive and expressive ways that Mertie conducted herself to make the trade makes her a natural salesperson. Under the right circumstances, she probably will make it big someday in the future.)
Last but not least, I must also say how impressed I am with your physical fitness. Notwithstanding the huffs ‘n puffs (which was notable), ya’ all managed to walk long ways, all the downhill descents, bends and the meandering, tough uphill ascents to make it to the summit. (With such workouts, you probably had no worries about LDL … 😉 while you were in Ethiopia.)
Thank you … Keep sharing new adventures.

@@jdm6613 yes unfortunately one has to be in the right environment to walk barefoot these days. looks like Our Fam in Ethiopia are blessed with favorable conditions. I don't think pinworms transmission is typically through the feet. someone may have told you a belief passed down that wasn't tru. do your research. athlete's foot typically is caught from damp areas like showers and, ironically, contaminated shoes. it is possible to catch it on urban walking areas but keep in mind, fungus and bacteria do not survive in all environments with the same lifespan. again do your research. dangers from urban/western barefoot walking are sharp glass or metal objects, toxic chemicals, toe stubbing, exposed tree roots, heated surfaces and yes athlete's foot fungus. I'm sure with research, you can find a situation where the dangers of walking barefoot are minimized. there are definite benefits. peace & love

Eggs used as cement for bridges in 1632.In the Republic of Barbados in the Caribbean, during slavery houses were built of eggs as cement., between the soft stones of houses built. Now I know where that knowledge came from of using eggs as cement.Africa. There are plantation houses still standing, slave huts and commercial buildings in the Capital City Bridgetown constructed of such materials.Barbados was colonised by the English in 16 27.

They say one of the first people came out from Ethiopia. Simple farmers are one of the best people to be around, not too greedy like some of the commercial farmers out there. It must be great exercise to be walking up that cliff. The Amharic language must be very difficult to learn for an English speaker.

The bridge is very impressive, and after crossing over, it appears the road as once fully cobblestoned. I am interested in structures and roads from the 17th century and earlier. Whoever designed and built this bridge and road were very skilled and knowledgeable.
