This animation was so good and smooth! This video being focused on Cake was so nice and even though this isn’t how he actually got his new asset, this video is still great!! He’s my favorite character 🥹
I think this video is a great showcase on why Cake’s design was changed, it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t the most inspired, the same went for characters like Tree, Cloudy, Balloony, and Fanny, they all fell into the category of “let’s give a random prop a face and call it a day”, so it definitely makes sense that they wanted to give Cake and the others more inspired designs.
Yeah, that's entirely true. A lot of the failed debuters' old assets were already props. Cake could rock the design well, but for others like Lightning and Remote, it looked kinda bad.

My own fan theory is that the LOL-ers sliced him up into one slice when the food supply was gone, then he got hit by the improvement ray and then stayed as chocolate cake slice.

I had a feeling this would get canceled after bfdia 13, it was fun while it lasted, I actually have some ideas of how the others got their new assets 8 ball: gets polished by TD and pillow Balloony: gets inflated more causing his color to get paler Barf bag: Someone like snowball causes them to get shoved or deformed while trying to escape Basketball: TD washes her color off a bit Bell: misshaped while trying to escape causing her ribbon to break too Clock: Puffball gets nauseous and pukes her colors on clock causing him to turn blue Cloudy: ALREADY MADE Eggy: TD splashes on her, causing eggys spots to drip down and get washed out a bit Fanny: Well perhaps her color could be used to get new limbs like pin did in IDFB, and since bubble died in the LOL somehow due to bfdia 9, they could mold her body into a new base for Fanny and puffball barf as paint Grassy: idk maybe he grows a bit more after finally escaping the LOL? Marker: he gets squashed a bit too much after trying to bang at the LOL to escape, and perhaps he uses Lollipops wrapper after cloudy freezes it to make it harden into shape Naily: Td and pillow polishes her Nickel: he gets crushed by someone or something so he gets his slight indent Pie: Probably the same as cake in the video Pillow: she gets her stuffing pushed into different places, and all the polishing causes her to get a slight discolor Remote: ALREADY MADE Robot flower: Td and pillow again Roboty: after snowball took some of his wires from remote, it causes robotys face lights to get lighter and for him to get slower Saw: TD AND PILLOW POLISH Taco: She gets more stale as time goes on, and eats some of herself to survive Tree: Bubbles limbs are just sitting there, also perhaps cloudy, firey jr, and Td could hell him grow a bit faster Tv: TD AND PILLOW POLISH Bracelety: Puffballs barf causes her to turn cyan Bottle: Firey jr got a bit too close and caused her to get softer and smoother Black hole: Nothing changes, or he just get bigger Lightning: ALREADY MADE Gaty: All the beating of trying to escape caused her to compress and lose a few planks, She also gains her handles from the remains of bubbles corpse, electrocuted by lightning which causes her magnet powers to get so strong, And puffballs barf colors her Firey jr: nothing happens Lollipop: her wrapper comes off
An idea I had that I never got around to was a separate short for Lightning which takes place before Cloudy's. In it, Lightning "zaps" out of the TLC/LOL. He looks around, then gets struck by lightning himself, ironically enough. The lightning-on-lightning action causes the energy in his body to go wild and warp into its IDFB form. This causes him to nearly pass out, where then the Firey Speaker Box finds and puts him back in the TLC/LOL.
Also one I had for Clock: Evil Leafy repeatedly teleports in and out of the TLC. This scares Clock a lot, and he literally turns blue in fear. Only issue with this is that it explains the color change of his asset, but not the SHAPE changes.
I know BFDIA 13 did it people would say it but. Try on doing this sort of AU. Like what if Gelatin never used the laser on The TLC/LOL. I seriously love this. Its a better fun reason on BFDI characters changing assets
You can at least do a 2 of them Nickel- Nickel was walking, and then ruby recovered Flower, after Ruby recovered Flower, Ruby looked inside the LOL/TLC thinking about someone coming out of the there and then leaving sadly, Nickel was walking and Flower saw Nickel. Flower was chasing him and Nickel ran for 2763 months, after that Flower finally got him she did something to him, he put him in the trash compater, he wanted to get out,after Flower left, he got out after a laser, Nickel wondered, Where did the lasers come from? He went to the place where it was coming from and it was coming from the WTF, (Weak Trembling Fortress) Gelatin was shooting lasers and it hit him, then he got bigger, after that, a cookie cutter came out of nowhere and flew away, he dodged it, after he wanted to see the volcano. He was at the volcano and sat on the edge and Flower came out of nowhere and punched Nickel in, but Nickel pulled Flower in Flower died in the lava and Nickels edges fell in the lava, luckily he lived, he walked down the volcano and the SAME cookie cutter came out of nowhere and hit him, that’s how he got his new asset Grassy- his asset is not completely new, make your own story
I honesly like the idea of each contestant gettint their new asset by their own and I think it's 100000% better than everyone just getting zapped by a random laser in Yoyle City
I'm busy with college and would rather work on other projects. With BFDIA giving a canonical explanation my motivation is completely gone. No one really cares anymore.
It wasn't just BFDIA 13. I had also struggled to make the short in general, and my interest in continuing the series had dwindled. BFDIA 13 was the direct reason for cancellation, but the seeds for cancellation had been planted for a while.
