Oh wow, this should be great. I read that Kryptonite and Jimmy Olsen were both actually invented/created by the writers of the radio show, and then later were brought into the comic books.
Kryptonite was created by the radio writers to give him a weakness, but also to allow Bud Collyer, the actor who played Superman, a chance to take a vacation. A lot of these radio serials didn't have a summer hiatus. A stand in actor just had to groan occasionally.
Fun fact, back in the 80s my dad had some red speedo looking undies and I use to always put them on with a tied sheet around my neck pretending to be superman.....and I'm a girl 😜
Whoohoo 👍 love the super hero broadcast 🦸🦸 up up and away!! I'll be there after I finished up my last day of my assignment thanks Dino. Have a great day.
Is this the long running radio serial rhat ran between 1940 to 1951. Sorry my naviety , as i have listened to Some of the old time radio from this time.😭😂😢😣😞🙊🙉🙈
All Right “ The Adventures Of Superman “ YAH--. Any chance for Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers radio serials showing up or maybe some old WWII news reports, or how about some variety nights you know mix mysteries and dramas with comedies and maybe an adventure of Superman. Maybe have some news reports or musical interludes between shows. Thank you for the great programming . Ps. Did you know that Kyrptonite was invented to give the actor who played Superman some vacation time. THANKS AGAIN. 16:0916:1916:19

Hey Michael A Grimm here AKA Multi-Voice I listen to you app loading every single Audio Drama that you have so I was wondering do you have any Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon audio series? I mean since you have Superman I was wonder if you have those two?
These are awesome to listen to on a dreary rainy day whenever you have nothing to do.
A rare treat, iam looking forward to it.

Should be fun
Scary Stories...Jimmy was officially recognized in a 1941 Superman story
@@markmclean5548 Yes-- In the comics Nov-Dec 1941. He was named in the radio show back in April of 1940 though. Wikipedia explains the history.

Interesting! The theme played at the beginning is the same theme used for the 1941 Fleischer "Superman" cartoons.
PEP the first name for Kellogg's Corn Flakes. They certainly do a lot in 15 minutes.
hooraaaaay 🦸
