In my opinion, I think the Jorvik Friesians are gorgeous, but the front legs of the rear look like they've been broken and it looks unnatural, the same with the gallop and extended canter. The end of the sliding stop looks like a huge bug and I really think Star Stable should fix it.😔 Personally, I think SSO could've done so much better with the Friesians as they did with the Andalusians, Lusitanos, AQH, Etc. Other than that I think Star Stable did a pretty good job.
on the contrary, It looks incredibly realistic, the only thing unrealistic is their front feet in the rear. The gen 3 have the best gates of all horses in this game
I personally love the extended canter! It gives the feel of a real, young, powerful horse (which is how friesians actually behave). That gait is insanely realistic and I feel as though it's the only gait where the rider doesn't look totally terrible lol. But the gallop, rear, and hard stop are really bad, I think we can ALL agree on that one haha
i definitely agree with u on that, except one other thing that’s bugging me like a damn fruit fly is the mane and the tail.... why is the mane separated into like 4 strands and the tail looks like a noodle- other than that i like them tbh
I really miss the longer legs and smaller eyes from the earlier generations. Something feels weird in the gen 3 horses animation and gaits, and I feel like this could have been fixed if they released this in a month or so. I would rather wait longer for better horses than them rushing for a horse that feels unfinished.
Anyone remember when sso released the gen 2 and the fact that the gen 1s went down in price was huge and everyone was like freaking out- then like the next day everyone had one- then the sports came out and that was the thing
It's be nice too if they could make the end of the tail look less like someone just took a machete to the end. Looks like the ends got sliced up in a straight cut.

Tbh, I thought that I would hate everything about this horse. But in-game, I'm OBSESSED. Maybe the hard stop and the jump is not my favourite, but overall, the muscles are beautiful and the special gaits too. The mane still looks like it has 3 separate parts that are glued together,but I changed it to the braided one and it's just beautiful.

I have amazing memories built on the Gen 1 Friesian model. I made my first ever SSO account in late 2012, I think the summer, and made my second/main in 2013 because of the Gen 1 model. I stopped playing sso in 2018 I think, but I still play a little bit sometimes to see how the game is doing. From this clip I don't think the new model looks bad, I really like the gallop. The horse I'm totally mad about is the newest fjord horse...just why. It's funny how the G1 still feels the most "grand", it was THE horse on the site in the earlier years :,) Edit: Went to see the horse in game, I can kind of see some issues. It's just that when you compare that one with the two older ones it generally looks better.
Put the main and tail and hooves from Gen 1 onto Gen 3, then add the smoothness of animation from Gen 2’s gallop onto Gen 3. Then we got a good looking horse.
Why are you suppose to hate it? Even when other people are complaining, it doesn't mean you should/need to join the party. If you are happy with the horse, you are! :) I don't myself see anything wrong with it, I love the new animations! Only thing that looks weird is the tail animation in pirouette but overall I'm happy with it.
The main thing I cannot stand about the Gen 3 is that the body and legs are way too short and chunky. The tail is also just weird and flat, Gen 2's tail is so much better. The animations in Gen 3 are just... not it. Some are way too fast and have bad jerky transitions. It just overall looks way too chunky, short, front heavy, and weird. SSO could have done much better and actually changed the model based on the feedback we gave during the WIP post, I thought that was the whole point of the WIP
Starstable is an amazing game. I love the areas we have, I love the horses we have. But the friesians didn't exactly need an update IMO. sure their manes and tail were too shiny but I can vibe with that. WHAT I CANT VIBE WITH IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE AREAS RIGHT NOW. I mean the hollow woods, dino valley and many other places are nowhere near as beautiful as wild woods (IMO).
Gen 1 always honestly. SSO done goofed with the new ones and I never liked the Gen 2 for looking more cartoony. and Until SSO does some serious fixes for the Gen 3 Friesians I'm sticking with Gen 1. Sure it's outdated as hell but compared to Gen 3 it has its priorities straight haha
The things I like about the new friesians is that they are a bit up-beat with their walk cycle. Kinda gives it the groove feel. (Exempting the rear and gallop) I also want to mention how the coat looks amazing in black. If I do end up getting this horse, I may only get the black coat, unless other coats end up how the black one did. However, I'm still a bit upset that the rear, gallop, and mane came out. Yeah I can just put braids in for the mane but I think they it would've been nice if they didn't put to much force onto the mane. The rear and gallop tho, look a bit unfinished. Yeah I will agree that it can be better than last gen. (depends on person) but I think they should've made the gallop and rear a bit less "stressed" on the legs there.
They took a step back with gen 2 imo, the gates are very inaccurate especially when it comes to gallop (looks more like dogs) like the Arabian. It has a distinct gallop pattern, which is more accurate on gen 1. But the new horses are beautiful, I'm excited for the future ❤️
I was a little hesitant at first when the trailer for the gen 3 friesians first came out. But I must say that I adore my friesian now. Sure there are some minor things they could fix like the front legs in the rear, the saddle placement (and the clipping girth in the rear) and maybe something with the tail. I really don't have anything else to say about it. I love my Rafael.
Thank you for this comparison! This may sound so random but I don't like that sso keeps changing the coat shades for gen 2 (it is so apparent here in your video too), and even only a little bit, some breeds. I know for sure that my black Friesian did not have so many dull whitish spots, same for my English when I first bought it.
Gen 1 mane/tail texture is very nice. If they put that and the gen 2 shine with lowered opacity on gen 3 itd look a lot nicer. I really like the large build if gen 3, and I'm a sucker for long manes! I ride western irl, perhaps thats why? Lol
The fact that the backing up animation is wrong (legs are not diagonal but like in the walk) really bothers me... Like why did they do this? Opinions really spread and that's alright, but a huge mistake like this is just weird in a game, that always works hard on horses. In my opinion, they just rushed this horse a little...

I feel as though the reason why a lot of people do not like this horse is because it strays away from the cartoon looking style sso has done in the past. This is hands down the most realistic looking horse sso has done. Some of the animations need working, but that walk, trot, canter, and extended canter all resemble those of an actual friesian. Also, to those complaining about the mane and tail, 1) the mane has always been stringy on all of the horses (as you can see). Animating hair is extremely difficult. 2) the tail is cut so abruptly because for real friesians with long tails they cut it exactly like that so they do not step on their tails while doing dressage :)
I bought the new frenzy today because they are one of my favs! But I am a bit dissatisfied with the gates especially the halt and the gallop.. cmon sso! We all know you hv the talent to fix it up but I still love my frizzy none the less! The jump is gorgeous as well
So this actually helped me to decide that I'm going to get the gen 3. I don't personally like some of the things it does (the petting animation, some of the idle animations, eta) but compared to gen 2, I prefer it. While I'd love a mash-up between the two, I'll just go with gen 3. Gen 2 seems a little too shiny to me and a little too...normal? if that makes sense. While the gen 3 has quirks, I'm probably going to with it, and hope that Star Stable tries to fix it a little bit. The most I'd as for is to change the creepy faces it makes, and the petting animation. While I like the idea of it licking you, it's just not executed the best and I'd really like to see it get an update.

I was a bit scared the first time I saw the petting animation tbh, it looks really creepy and imo it looked like the horse was trying too eat my hands XD It's definitely noticeable that it's not the work of the same animator that did the Jorvik Wild face movements, those are much more natural and super well done! :D
This may be a tad of an unpopular opinion but I’m in love with the new Friesians ❤️✨they need a little fixing up, and as much as I adore my Gen. 2 Guardianangel, this breed needed a change lol
I really like the new model, I think the sort of dramatic stopping, or the hair really makes the breed stand out. I don't think the running gait looks that awful? I think it looks a little dramatic like it's some sort of "war movie" horse, but other than that I think the breed is really flattering, but I will admit I truly would've loved to see more feathering. I actually really like the jump, I believe it's very stylistic, and not boring. Overall I think this is a really fun horse, that's a tad bit dramatic.
Gen 1 honestly had the best design, but fell flat when it came to the animation but was still quite better in my opinion compared to gen 2. Gen 2 was a little bit too shiny, tho I wish gen 3 was a bit shinier bc the main just looks a bit dull. Gen 3 definitely wins in animation compared to the two, and I honestly can’t wait to get it. Of course I really wish they included their feathered hooves, or at least as part of a mane style, like the super long mane comes with the feathered hooves and the other main styles could trim it. I also get major Andalusian vibes from gen 3, which is like an Easter egg because gen 1 Friesians and Andalusians shared the same model lol other than that, I definitely want to get gen 3

I love the new Jorvik Friesians. Now when I look them side by side. The gen 1 looks broken af. The gen 2 looks like a poodle. And the gen 3 looks like a Friesian.
The movements look a little buggy, but they're closer to what it looks like than the other 2 generations. I get why everyone likes their gen. 1 and gen. 2, but I'm going with gen. 3, it just looks way more like my friesian irl :>

I know a lot of people like the Gen 2, but honestly looks straight up like a Barbie horse to me lol. I think the new Gen 3 Friesians are pretty cute.
Gen 1 always honestly. SSO done goofed with the new ones and I never liked the Gen 2 for looking more cartoony. and Until SSO does some serious fixes for the Gen 3 Friesians I'm sticking with Gen 1. Sure it's outdated as hell but compared to Gen 3 it has its priorities straight haha

Gen 1 looks more dated but I think it’s better cause gen 3 animations are soo weird
The things I like about the new friesians is that they are a bit up-beat with their walk cycle. Kinda gives it the groove feel. (Exempting the rear and gallop) I also want to mention how the coat looks amazing in black. If I do end up getting this horse, I may only get the black coat, unless other coats end up how the black one did.
However, I'm still a bit upset that the rear, gallop, and mane came out. Yeah I can just put braids in for the mane but I think they it would've been nice if they didn't put to much force onto the mane. The rear and gallop tho, look a bit unfinished. Yeah I will agree that it can be better than last gen. (depends on person) but I think they should've made the gallop and rear a bit less "stressed" on the legs there.
They took a step back with gen 2 imo, the gates are very inaccurate especially when it comes to gallop (looks more like dogs) like the Arabian. It has a distinct gallop pattern, which is more accurate on gen 1.
But the new horses are beautiful, I'm excited for the future ❤️
I was a little hesitant at first when the trailer for the gen 3 friesians first came out. But I must say that I adore my friesian now. Sure there are some minor things they could fix like the front legs in the rear, the saddle placement (and the clipping girth in the rear) and maybe something with the tail. I really don't have anything else to say about it. I love my Rafael.

This may sound so random but I don't like that sso keeps changing the coat shades for gen 2 (it is so apparent here in your video too), and even only a little bit, some breeds. I know for sure that my black Friesian did not have so many dull whitish spots, same for my English when I first bought it.

Gen 1 mane/tail texture is very nice. If they put that and the gen 2 shine with lowered opacity on gen 3 itd look a lot nicer.
I really like the large build if gen 3, and I'm a sucker for long manes! I ride western irl, perhaps thats why? Lol

The fact that the backing up animation is wrong (legs are not diagonal but like in the walk) really bothers me... Like why did they do this?
Opinions really spread and that's alright, but a huge mistake like this is just weird in a game, that always works hard on horses.
In my opinion, they just rushed this horse a little...
Coming back here to see why people like the gen 2 over the gen 3, when the gen 3 is LEAGUES better as a representation of the breed.

i bought the gen3 horse when it came out im inlove the tail doesnt bug me but they could remake it
I feel as though the reason why a lot of people do not like this horse is because it strays away from the cartoon looking style sso has done in the past. This is hands down the most realistic looking horse sso has done. Some of the animations need working, but that walk, trot, canter, and extended canter all resemble those of an actual friesian. Also, to those complaining about the mane and tail, 1) the mane has always been stringy on all of the horses (as you can see). Animating hair is extremely difficult. 2) the tail is cut so abruptly because for real friesians with long tails they cut it exactly like that so they do not step on their tails while doing dressage :)
Gen 4 is My Fav. Gen 1 died and gen 2 is really old and it soon Time to let it Go 😢

Gen1 - chunky

I bought the new frenzy today because they are one of my favs! But I am a bit dissatisfied with the gates especially the halt and the gallop.. cmon sso! We all know you hv the talent to fix it up but I still love my frizzy none the less! The jump is gorgeous as well

So this actually helped me to decide that I'm going to get the gen 3. I don't personally like some of the things it does (the petting animation, some of the idle animations, eta) but compared to gen 2, I prefer it. While I'd love a mash-up between the two, I'll just go with gen 3.
Gen 2 seems a little too shiny to me and a little too...normal? if that makes sense. While the gen 3 has quirks, I'm probably going to with it, and hope that Star Stable tries to fix it a little bit. The most I'd as for is to change the creepy faces it makes, and the petting animation. While I like the idea of it licking you, it's just not executed the best and I'd really like to see it get an update.
I completely agree with you! I was a bit scared the first time I saw the petting animation tbh, it looks really creepy and imo it looked like the horse was trying too eat my hands XD It's definitely noticeable that it's not the work of the same animator that did the Jorvik Wild face movements, those are much more natural and super well done! :D

Generation 2 forever
I really like the new model, I think the sort of dramatic stopping, or the hair really makes the breed stand out. I don't think the running gait looks that awful? I think it looks a little dramatic like it's some sort of "war movie" horse, but other than that I think the breed is really flattering, but I will admit I truly would've loved to see more feathering. I actually really like the jump, I believe it's very stylistic, and not boring. Overall I think this is a really fun horse, that's a tad bit dramatic.

Gen 1 honestly had the best design, but fell flat when it came to the animation but was still quite better in my opinion compared to gen 2. Gen 2 was a little bit too shiny, tho I wish gen 3 was a bit shinier bc the main just looks a bit dull. Gen 3 definitely wins in animation compared to the two, and I honestly can’t wait to get it. Of course I really wish they included their feathered hooves, or at least as part of a mane style, like the super long mane comes with the feathered hooves and the other main styles could trim it. I also get major Andalusian vibes from gen 3, which is like an Easter egg because gen 1 Friesians and Andalusians shared the same model lol other than that, I definitely want to get gen 3
I agree very much. I started playing this game not so long ago, and initially, seeing the frieze of the first generation, I just turned up my nose, and bought the 3rd generation, and in the end I did not experience any emotions. Like it's just a model, ordinary, pretentious. And then, just for fun, I decided to buy the first generation and take it... There is so much soul and echoes of the past in this, and it is so warm. He really looks like a representative of the breed and looks so cute and kind, as if sending me back to my childhood.
I love the new Jorvik Friesians. Now when I look them side by side. The gen 1 looks broken af. The gen 2 looks like a poodle. And the gen 3 looks like a Friesian.

The movements look a little buggy, but they're closer to what it looks like than the other 2 generations. I get why everyone likes their gen. 1 and gen. 2, but I'm going with gen. 3, it just looks way more like my friesian irl :>
