this is fucking heaven, every fest ive been two has like a couple stages and maybe one renegade stage i would be so at home here with my jerry rigged set up which alays gets dissed by snobby people who dont even own spekaers
eastern/western europe (sorry for the "central europe" partisans, we love you) do not have the same tek dynamics : west has crowds of ravers but the police repression is fierce so the larger events are fewer, and east has less ravers and less repression, so the teknivals are more "confidential", not as many random people apart from the soundsystems (also only a few of the western european ravers actually go east, because gas ain't cheap and there often are many parties happening nearby so why bother crossing borders, it's not the 90s anymore), you mostly see crowds raving in the night, and by daytime, everyone is sleeping or enjoying their lives elsewhere... it's actually going east that turned me on to the freeparty movement, and I look back to that with nostalgia. but i'm aware most people in my country only think of the freeparty scene as something local, or national. too bad, but the cost of living and global capitalism are deterrents to partying abroad... also, not only economic stress, but environmental issues explain that maybe its better to make local parties and not boast about having seen parties everywhere in the world, as it was the trend around the 00's (90's-00s, early 2010's), let's stay true to the music and movement and quit that competitive stance (on another level, one of the competitions amongst sound systems in the 2000's and early 2010's was having the largest system... haha what idiotic crap, larger walls don't mean diddely squat, any truly artistic musical expression can be blissfully experienced with only 10kW, or less...).
