📝Basic information:
About my work - I remove beaver dams when I receive an order from a state organization.
I do not choose which dam to remove. It is decided by officials at the request of nearby residents. Each dam is assessed in advance if it can and if should be dismantled.
Removing the dam is not a threat to beavers. I do not remove their houses - lodges.
Dams are removed only in places where beavers cause damage, for example by flooding nearby fields, flooding the basements of nearby houses, or when the stream on which beavers built their dam is degraded.
Even though beavers are very invasive animals, they are under strict protection in our country.
I personally like all animals, so beavers are fine too.

Always surprised at how much removing one of those dams alters the landscape. Fascinating. 👍
That’s got to be the best constructed dams I’ve seen by a beaver. That has to be a wise, old beaver that built it. Usually when the water starts blasting and eroding the dam it just comes a part, the water does all the work. Not this one, they had to sill pull it apart. Water gushing helped some, but not like you normally see it break it apart.

In this place, beavers felled several quite large birch trees, but in some places I find much larger trees felled by beavers.
As for the work we do, we simply try to do it as best as we can. And I won't judge others, because I do my job, and other RUclipsrs maybe just do it as a hobby.

Congratulations on your observation, but it wasn't an angry beaver. It was one of the sticks thrown by Kasia, which bounced off the tree and fell back into the water. Luckily I didn't hit it on the head 😋

great teamwork with Kasia (again), kind of `perfect couple´; you just might need to be bit cautious and always be good to her as she’s obviously quite good in throwing sticks, too 😅.
Getting back slightly more serious, very nice episode and fascinating dam (de-) construction again (similar to # 92); unfortunately the beaver has obviously chosen bit of unfavourable location for his pond.
Just curious when you went back downstream starting from 37:00 when there’s already quite increased water flow and level in height of your thighs. It appears that you’re still able to keep stable position despite the (expected) drag of the water. Has speed still been relatively slow, or were there so many air-bubbles from the cascade which helped to reduce the force? I tend to never under-estimate the power of water. Even knee-high depth of 50cm / 1.5ft only can already be a challenge if constant flow with sufficient speed and pressure (plus gravel ground when walking bare-foot).

We did this work in early spring, when it was still really cold and unpleasant outside - so my Kasia wasn't too thrilled that she went with me 🥶🥶😋
