Crazy Loud Afterburners! CF-18 Hornets Takeoff from Ottawa

  • Here's the insanely loud takeoff of two CF-18 Hornets, departing Ottawa's runway 25 on-route for the TD Place fly-over of the Redblacks game. These are surprisingly much louder than the almost daily 727. The engines at full thrust coupled with the visible afterburners made these Hornets the best catch of the night.

    That was AMAZING!! Silky smooth filming as usual, which to my experience, isn't easy to do when you're put up against an afterburner takeoff! Liked!

      Amazing to have experienced it in person, too! It wasn't the easiest takeoffs I've filmed.

      If think we canceled the deal some months ago and are buying used F-18s from Australia as a temporary solution.

    it's quite rare to see them doing a reheat takeoff ... especially from a major city like Ottawa ... they must have been delayed for takeoff thus needing the quick flight out to make up some time ... wish they did let them take it to full supersonic on take off now THAT would have be spectacular ...

      wish we had a flying full scale arrow though ... bigger faster louder and better ;) ... one day .... one day we may see one arrow fly ... and i dont mean a scale model rc version either ...

    where did the first hornet go ?

    • @Boeingspotter1
      @Boeingspotter1  8 лет назад

      First one flew out of the camcorder's view and gained more altitude. Both Hornets re-grouped a little farther on and went in formation for the fly-over of a Football game.
