I live in Minnesota. You are so far doing a fantastic job on the North American zoo. That is exactly how I would envision raccoons wanting to live. (yes, I might be anthropomorphizing animals a bit... lol) Your skunk habitat is very creative. We had a raccoon when I was growing up. We also had a baby skunk named Flower for a very short time but my mother (who was a mega animal lover) found out we weren't allowed to own a skunk and had to turn it over to some kind of wildlife refuge place. She was so cute and so loved. I was really surprised when Frontier put them in the game and I was really not sure I would use them but now seeing others habitats - why not? They are adorable.

Amazing building and a very helpful video, since I'm planning on recreating a similar (but bigger) round building of a real life zoo at some point - and starting with the path and building the dome around it is so much easier than what I had in mind. That's why I love watching PlanZoo videos - you get inspiration and ideas and learn some tricks all the time :D

I absolutely love how toy construct rivers and banks🥰 I can't play the game yet and always wanted to focus on the water fronts with rocks and bushes and you do it so well! I can feel satisfied without playing haha

Fun fact my aunt has a pet skunk! In terms of wild animals kept as pets it’s not…the MOST unethical but I still wouldn’t recommend it. It is neat to see skunks in person, their bodies look wayyyy too big for their heads

Skunk build! You know what that means... Skunk Story Ok so no I've never technically worked with a Skunk before, or at least not a captive one. One of my internships, a Skunk had snuck into this zoo. Keep in mind that this zoo has had trouble with Skunks...one and a Raccoon broke into the aviary and killed some of the Asian ducks 10 years prior. And even if the Skunk doesn't kill anything it could still transmit rabies or other diseases to the zoo animals, so we needed to catch it. We learned that it had dug a small burrow under the pig barn, which made things even worse because now we had to try and catch it before the pigs straight up tried to EAT the little bastard. We didn't have a live trap at the moment, so we got desperate at one point and tried with a blanket...didn't go well other than the fact that somehow SOMEHOW, it didn't spray us. Tried, but missed. Finally we got a hold of one of those live cage traps. Even after it was caught we were afraid to come near it because it's a cage, there's still plenty of space to spray at us, so we eventually carried a blanket over with a pole and dropped the blanket on top of the cage. It didn't become piggy chow at least, but holy crap! If a Porcupine didn't ejac... you know, on my leg two weeks later I would say this is the most ridiculous story I could ever tell you while playing Planet Zoo

in real life taking money for the restrooms after taking a zillion for drinks and entry before is a nogo and i am glad in both berlin zoos this has stopped when the current zoo director got in charge!
We also dont have to pay money in dutch zoos for the toilet and in fact I dont think there are zoos at all in the world that have donation boxes next to every habitat? Its just how the game works and you need to find as many ways as possible to earn money in the game :) so..... pay me money for toilet use NOW :P
Maybe someday in the future, but as of right now the game is just too shallow so I was bored super quickly the last time I played. Development of the game goes very slow as well, so I am not expecting myself to go back anytime soon :)
Hi Veronica! The zoo file is up on the Steam workshop, so you could potentially go into the file and see what of the entrance and shops you would like to use, make a blueprint from it so you can use it for your own zoos :) ❤️
Is there any difference between assigning a staff to a workzone that has everything in it or not assigning any workzone to a staff? 🤔 I don't really understand why you use the workzone with everything.
When the game just launched you would fail hard if not setting up any workroster (staff not knowing where to go and animals dying because they didnt get food and such).. Turns out frontier changed things now in franchise mode so apparently you dont need an everything workroster anymore.. But I am just so used to it that I keep doing it, hahaha!
Do you support zoos? I think if they had habitats like this I could get behind it. San Diego zoo has some really nice exhibits though. They claim the animals can’t go back to the wild but I feel like some of them do better with captivity than others.
Most animals in zoos these days have been bred and live their whole life in captivity, so they would not have the skills needed to survive in the wild. Then there is the 'wild' animals who have been injured and rehabilitated, most often their injuries prevent the release back into the wild. It is becoming increasingly rare for zoos to house fully healthy wild animals without a very good reason, such as a breeding program for a critically endangered species, so there's no reason to not support a properly ran and accredited zoo.
I hope you would support zoos and zookeepers. I'm sick of idiots calling me a jailer, when I would literally take a bullet for the animals I've cared for. I just obviously hope I never have to prove it
