Easiest solution: they're talking about multiple workouts per day. You can do 5 workouts, working out every other day, in a week if you do two workouts on 2 of the days. You can even take the weekends off :)
@@Michael-hc2hp I mean that just depends on how you word it. If you say "I worked out for 5 days", then yea what you said is correct. But if you say "I worked out every other day this week and did 5 workouts", then my comment still stands
Listen boys and girls, as a fitness professional IRL if you are curious how you should structure your workout just keep one thing constant and that's having 2 rest days through out your week
The simple answer is: he ALWAYS works out both Saturday and Sunday. Therefore starting each week’s workout on Sunday he does work out 4 times each week while still technically only working out every other day. And saying 4-5 isn’t that big a stretch as imagine if you always work out 4 times and if you have extra time some random Wednesday and wanna get a little workout in.
If I was in this situation when it was happening, I would just start trying to gaslight everyone about the 8th and 9th days of the week to just fuck everything up even more.
I think I found the best way to explain it. We'll use February for our month since it has 28 days (when not a leap year) since 28 is evenly divisible by 7 (28/7 = 4), the amount of days in a week. Given that English speakers read starting from the uppermost left of a document, the first day of most calendars is Sunday. For greater accuracy we'll use February from 2015, because the first day of the month was a Sunday. With all of this, a workout calendar should look like this if you work out every other day: Week 1 - Sunday (1st), skip (2nd), Tuesday (3rd), skip, (4th), Thursday (5th), skip (6th), Saturday (7th) 4 days worked out, 3 days skipped Week 2 - skip (8th), Monday (9th), skip (10th), Wednesday (11th), skip (12th), Friday (13th), skip (14th) 3 days worked out, 4 days skipped Week 3 - Sunday (15th), skip (16th), Tuesday (17th), skip (18th), Thursday (19th), skip (20th), Saturday (21st) 4 days worked out, 3 days skipped Week 4 - skip (22nd), Monday (23rd), skip (24th), Wednesday (25th), skip (26th), Friday (27th), skip (28th) 3 days worked out, 4 days skipped Counting the amount of days worked out in the month, you get 14 (28/2 = 14). Counting the amount of days skipped in the month, you get 14 (28/2 = 14). If you were to split the weeks directly in half by including half workouts (7/2 = 3.5), this would happen 4 times-one for each week. 3.5 days worked out, 3.5 days skipped times 4 weeks. 3.5 worked out x 4 = 14 days worked out, 3.5 days skipped x 4 = 14 days skipped. The numbers are the same mathematically, however they do not take into account the nonexistence of half workouts. The reality is to round one week up and the consecutive week down: 3.5 + 3.5 = 7. (3.5 - 0.5) + (3.5 + 0.5) = 7. 3 + 4 = 7. Hopefully this can clear any Coney Confusion™ As stated by G. H. Hardy in _A Mathematician's Apology_ , "I believe that mathematical reality lies outside us, that our function is to discover or observe it, and that the theorems which we prove, and which we describe grandiloquently as our 'creations,' are simply our notes of our observations" (Hardy, 2012).
