What I love about you guys, is that you show and prove you dont have to use all first party gear to be professionals. I'm so sicken tired of so many channels reviewing third party lenses that are 95 % performance and be like "fine for amateurs, but if you are professional, buy first party lenses and gear"...
oh my gosh I don't do weddings any more but hearing you talk about doing photo AND video as just one person!!!! my whole body is tightening up with stress and I can literally feel it in my feet! But good on yous guys and girls who can handle it!
I shot hybrid for a friends wedding and won’t do it again lol
It’s too much for normal weddings. Taylor shoots higher end weddings at great venues he likes to work at so he’s quite comfortable
Images look great out of this lens! Excited to use mine!
3:18 kinda where I'm right now, pushing me to get a full frame... I mean, yes my images will benefit from a full frame, but the question that makes me hesitate a bit is: what's the improvement / cost ratio of my images from crop or full frame, considering the purpose and use of my images.
Beautiful stuff🎉
That venue looks great on camera
🤔🤔🤔 If i have a big lens and a ladder i wonder how many places i can get into 🤔🤔🤔 i also have the samyang 35-150mm f2-2.8. Love the lens and im really enjoying your content.
And a pizza delivery bag and high vis vest and clipboard
I have it , it's in the current software. And honestly the AF is very frustrating, it focus really fast and can easily find the eyes of your subject even in dark environments. But upon importing it to my editing software almost all my shots are not accurately in focus and the focus points everywhere except the eyes which makes me really sad . I will probably return it and have it replace with other units.
Are you on an A7IV?
@ yes.
How is the friction on the zoom ring compared to the Tamron? My Samyang was very loose to where it was actually difficult to stay at the same focal length. If the camera was pointed down at all, the lens would immediately extend to 110mm.
Mine is the same. I have more of a comparison video coming on Monday, but that’s the only real negative. And it’s a touch larger and heavier than the tamron, but it’s pretty marginal
Hi Taylor, great video! Can you do the day photos in electronic shutter? I know the mechanical has a long live, but if there's no difference in image quality, I see no point using the mechanical. How do people react if there's no sound as I know you shot Nikon weddings with electronic shutter only..
Nikon electric shutter is very different from Sony. Sony(at least the a74 and A7RV) you’ll get a lot of weird surprises if you shot it all day on electronic. I probably wouldn’t recommend
Size (of your lens) matters. Got it!
Love you videos. I clicked on the link to download/and get your photo checklist for free but when I go to it it says $19.?
Just get the main product at the top that comes with all of the stuff for free.
Hello. I have one question which is really bothering me and i know you can help me. I am using Nikon Z6 and i am happy with how it performs in day time. But focus in dim light and low light is really bad it is hunting like crazy, super slow, and it misses a lot. Which one of Sony, Nikon and Canon performs best when focusing in low light. I am only doing photos. No video. I hope you can help me since you used them all. Thank you, i have been following you for years and i love your work, you really inspired me a lot.
Nikon z8 might be best if you already have Nikon lenses
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Thank you for your anwer. i don’t mind switching system. I just want to stop having trouble focusing. 😁
Same video video different lens is it true samples
This or the Tamron if you were buying?
Have that video coming on Monday
did samyang really just rip off the tamron?
Well... Considering it has the exact same number of lens elements and groups... Yes.
But overall... It is kinda difficult to claim such things, as otherwise every 24-70 out there is also a rip off. Or every prime ever.
But there's really no denying with those extreme construction similatities
What about the weight for a full wedding?
It’s a heavy boy for all day. I typically use it for the ceremony mainly
Oof. Ya I'm 6'1 and 205lbs. Workout daily. I run it all day but. Holy smokes. This mf is heavy. Def will tire you out.
Thank you so much !!@@TaylorJacksonPhoto
Thank you for your answer , i suposed that this is so heavy for a full day of wedding! @@puertadlm163
what about you compared to Tamron?
That video coming up Monday
would you say there’s any noticeable difference between this and a Tamron 35-150 mm? I’ve been using the Tamron for a few months and I decided to get one for my wife, who second shoots for me and decided to go with the samyang this week but haven't been able to compare AF or IQ yet
From my findings there’s very little optical difference which is surprising
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto good to hear
True a bigger lens doesn't make you a professional but it can open doors. I have gotten into a lot of restricted areas with my big lens attached to the camera. I am a pro. Hobbies only
Are you taking pictures in Auto mode ?!!!
No
That's Aperture Priority.
Im reaearching this lens but have seen quite a few people say the AF is bad and misses a lot of shots... How did gou find it?
Make sure the firmware is updated. The Af improves significantly afterwards
Am crying at the amount of natural light in that ceremony! Try plying your trade in mostly old English 1000 year old churches! With the ugliest strip lighting you ever done seen. Any thoughts on the coatings on this lens, I've heard people say that the coatings aren't as good as the Tamron and so it lacks the same DR. I'm still thinking through my usual preference for 35mm/85mm two body work. Great video.
😊

i dont like the bokeh, but you are doing a great job👍
weird. I think it's great
As you said the bigger the body or lens is show you pro hehe, thats fact
