Wait, Necropotence exiles cards face-down. How can Ashiok's ultimate work when it relies on you calculating the sum of hidden information?
Necropotence cards don’t count for the ultimate. He was gaining mana value from the cards exiled from ashioks ability by paying 1 life to the necropotence.
Every time I paid life, I exiled a card instead. Those cards are what Ashiok is looking at!
