I'm not sure what you're talking about with the Lyrik blowing through its travel and not being sensitive. You even compress it at 3:46 when walking your bike. I've got one and it's phenomenal. I prefer it over a Fox 36 because it sits higher and is still insanely supple. Aside from that, however, this was a great review. Really well done guys, keep it up.
SG - MTB Ive had the same issue with the fork as him, if I had the pressure where the fork is eating up the trail it dives in corners and if I applied some front brake, so I also rode with more pressure to keep it from diving, with made it bounce and a lot of hand pain, after a day in finale Ligure shuttling I was struggling to hold the bars the next day, i fitted the fork with the Andreani piston kit while I was there and it changed the bike completely, went down 10psi in pressure so it was smooth as fuck with no diving or hand pain, I'm so happy with it now, I weigh 78 kg with gear and backpack btw,
Maybe it is something to do with the fork being travel-adjust as even their enduro bike of the year is speced with lyric rct3 an no complaints were mentioned.
@@aleks2194 - So you're saying if you get this bike this Andreani upgrade is a must? I've been offered one and the fork is the only thing putting me off...
Personally I'd rather have a YT Capra over this. There's nothing wrong with Trek, I had a Remedy for 6 years and it came to Austria with me 3 times and I had the most fun I've ever had on 2 wheels with it but it's time for something new now and YT offers much better value for money.
It wouldn't have been our first choice, but we have a number of projects like this to juggle at the moment and magazine on-sale dates to consider too. If it helps, think of it as just another bike review.
Joah Sprenger pedal mode stiffens it halfway of locked, works great uphill or on gravel roads but I always have it in open mode when you don't need it a little stiffer, if it had a mode that gave it no pedal bob and the same suppleness as regular open mode you would only need that mode as it would be the perfect shock
Why in the last year has the All Mountain category been eradicated, and why are you calling a 160mm travel bike a trail bike and not an enduro/all mountain bike?!?!!? Has the categorizing of mountain bikes been completely fucked? Trail bikes are 110-140mm travel bikes with medium geometry, and why are a lot of people calling 120mm travel full sus bikes XC bikes?!?!? THATS A TRAIL BIKE!!!! And how is a 65.5 degree fucking head angle and 160mm travel bike not a full enduro bike? I am so confused and mad idk
Mr.Moonboy travel is stadting to matter less as the technology improves. I own the remedy 9 rsl and it pedals up hills and on flats laughably better than my older, 135mm travel stumpjumper fsr. bikes have just gotten so good at being versatile that they don't need to limit the travel to achieve efficiency. and it looks like the trend is going to continue; take a look at the polygone square one. more usable travel than a downhill bike but pedals like a 120mm trail bike? the future is now.
Cheap = something to get you into MTB but after 6 months it has worn out or otherwise you have improved and the bike just isn't right anymore.... Expensive = you can no longer afford anything else in your life like sex, drugs, food, toiletries, haircuts, medical expenses etc etc but fuk it sure is fun hitting shit at speed knowing ya bike is dialled with all the best shit money can buy even though you have no real idea how it all works... it just feels sooooo fuking good.
Already broke a rim linkage bolts come loose derailleur hanger nut can fall off and I've ripped both tires first and second time riding lift access trails
I think the SE4 tyres are not that great unless you rude on asphalt. I washed out on a dirt turn I rode hundreds of times, with the High Roller 2,the high roller 2 is softer and has has a lot softer rubber & more open knob design which is great for wet conditions & is a lot stickier which gives much more grips in corners. High roller 2 is about as durable form y use, but high roller 2 is clearly a winner for me. the Se4 corners faster, but high roller 2 grips better.
Im riding the 9.9 RSL this year. Have to say it's one hell of a bike!
yeah that's what im talking about trek remedy is always the top contender of enduro mtbikes😃👍👍
01:00 sneaky
what am i missing, sorry its late :D
ecalor look at his hand.
I died when I saw it :D
Wahahaha dammit
Hahahaha, sneaky grabber!

I love Trek mountain bikes
MORE STUFF I CANT AFFORD!

I have this bike and it's amazing in my opinion one of the best bikes at the price point.
Isn't it weird to release a contender vid AFTER the winner vid?

mutefeed yeah because they didn't include this beast bike before they released the winner...remedy is the best all mountain bike of all time😃👍👍
is not the winner but i think is the pritiest. are the wheels 29rs? and are there any bikes with 27 inch wheels in the top contenders list?
Eliseo Lusian remedy has 27.5 inch wheels.
A bought a Trek once... 27 years ago.
Nothing on reactive?? Isnt the whole point to keep the shock in pedal mode amd have the pedal platform without compromising shock sensitivity??

Are you guys doing a separate trail bike of the year too? Since the trailer was titled trail and Enduro bike of the year?
Yes definitely! It'll start soon, so keep an eye out!
Is reliable in 2021? Help answer..
Nice

can you please do a video explaining the difference between a cheap and expencive bike.
What do you consider "cheap" price wise
Under 1000

Kevin Maddick bit of an extreme view but I get what your saying
just pulling a leg mate lol. ;)

Choose better lines.
Giant Reign?
Jason NOT Bourne ?
Still not a fan of proprietary kit on bikes. This isn't the worst case of it, but it still gives riders less flexibility and choice
SmevMev hopefully metric catches on, but if it doesn't you can still use special hardware to get old shocks into the frame

could you do a give away?
anyone Know pros and cons of Ghost Kato 3
For 3k I'd expect a lot more from a bike
Chris James like what? not being snarky, just legitimately curious. i have one and it blows away every other bike I've ridden.
@@Cakeborb - This exact bike? I've been offered one so I'm keen to hear real world reviews
who stole his shoulders!!
Ha ha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this dude should do some press ups
Better than radon!
First
