    Tombstone Redemption was amazing Saturday! The organizer said that they had around 8,000 people there. Fans came from as far as Canada, England, Italy, and New Zealand to visit that fair town! I'm sorry I can't make it Sunday, but you'll have a blast!

    Now I gotta listen to the Grand Canyon Suite. It is a beautiful place and I always wanted to tour the Grand Canyon in person. I'm too chicken to walk out on the West Skywalk, though!

    I been to the grand canyon and maybe it's just me but it has a very surreal feel to it. Like you're looking at a painting rather than a geological formation.
    I also used to have this nifty shirt I got from the gift shop that is a black and white drawing of the canyon but when in the sunlight the shirt turns to color.
    I'm not sure if they still sell them since it's been decades since I visited but it was a pretty cool shirt.

    Wow that beginning is some really good Editing. I went to the Grand canyon For the first time a few years ago. It's absolutely breathtaking. Its size is very hard to explain unless you see it in person.

    yes it is spectacular place to visit we've been there twice stayed at williams and took relatives from europe on the helicopter ride just stunning the way the pilot introduces you to the canyon . He flys very low over the forest then bang all you can see below you is canyon just a spectacular introduction to the canyon. happy trails

    I visited when I was very young . The donkey ride was rough on the behind and Mom wasn't to pleased that her donkey kept trying to eat her hat . Loved this . Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤

    Visiting the Grand Canyon is on my bucket list. Despite having numerous relatives in the area I've never made the trip. Hopefully one day.

    This video sparked memories of a trip to the canyon many years back, with a (at the time) college age daughter. We pitched our tent, then walked over to the edge to take our first look. She stood there for a moment, then proclaimed "Humph .... looks just like the pictures". All I could think of was the many miles driven to get there, the heat, the high cost of getting into the park & this is the response I get ?? Hah, the joys of raising teenagers ....

    My dad and I took a 70 mile helicopter ride through the canyon. That was one wild ride!

    I first saw the canyon, and hiked down and back up, in high school, in 1981. There’s a really good book covering the tragic deaths at the Grand Canyon. You “hanging over the edge” made me think about it.

    My family and I spent a week at the Grand Canyon in 2017. I do plan on returning although I’m not sure when. It is a magnificent place for sure.

    Spent two weeks there in 1987 and took the overnight mule ride to Phantom Ranch. Drove to the North Rim and stayed there as well. I have hundred of slides and chromes. Awesome does not faintly describe the Grand Canyon. Oh, I have a Kolb brothers signed book and an 1875 first ed. Major John Wesley Powell's "Exploration of the Colorado River and its Tributaries" as well.

      @@ArizonaGhostriders Many years ago I stopped at the Meteor Crater. It was off season an I was about the only tourist there. As I stood there, in awe, I said to myself ( louder than intended) “ Now THAT’S a big ‘f’ing’ hole! One of the ladies working at the center was closer than I realized, lost it! She said, quietly, “ You’re, right, it IS a big ‘f’ing’ hole!”

    I always enjoy the videos. Nice tribute at end. My favorite story of the canyon is Brighty of the Grand Canyon. Tells the story of Brighty the Burro. Story is based on a real burro that lived in the Canyon. I read the book 40 years ago when I visited the canyon. I love to read and thought it would be a good souvenir. Absolutely loved it. Santee, maybe you could do a video about Brighty. I would love to see it.
    I went back and watched again. I noticed that Lr. Ives was wearing a Confederate Colonel's uniform. Had to research him. Quite interesting, he was born a Yankee but decided to leave the US Army and join the Confederate Army.. He ended up as Aide to President Jeff Davis.

    The explorer's quote ("no doubt be the last to visit this profitless land") was hilarious. Most discoverers would have played to their egos with "this glorious spot I bravely ventured" and renamed it something unknowingly cringe like "the Glory Hole" or something.

    Great episode. One of my favorite scenes from the John Wayne/Ford movie Fort Apache is when John Wayne and Pedro Armendarez stop by the Grand Canyon on their way to meet Cochise.

    So crazy that the grand canyon was originally underwater. You can kinda see where the ancient American waterway went there with the sea of cortez in mexico.

    fun fact: the corps of topographical engineers was once the elites of the army as they were directly responsible for fortifications, navigation routes, and lighthouses…they’re why the Corps of Engineers are responsible for so many bridges, dams, canals, railroad crossings, and flood prevention
    Ives might be a name that you recognize, his son worked for a while in Arizona during the transition to statehood and was heavily involved in the territorial council

Still remember Adam West's add about it being America's oldest crack problem and to bring a bucket of dirt. I believe that is the way it went.     besides wish family a few times frum 50's-. i rode bicycle to an fro frum Mesa, Az. South rim both frum east then west,, or vice a versa. Lunch at tour, then tried 200 miles back down hill in 12 hours. it took 20 with flats. family photo when got to do the tourist seen with wife an marcus-son. ..Buy Bike is Best...

    Paul Bunyan's ax is easier to believe than millions of years of water erosion, but I understand, you deal in humor as well as history.

      Geologists agree that it wasn't Paul, but rather a tectonic lift and millions of years of water erosion.
      They also say it erodes about 1 foot every 200 years...so it continues to get deeper.
      Gotta love science.

    Another excellent video, Santee! looked it up regarding the history of Grsnd, but judging from the desert, it might have been more or less in land mighty River one time, and the tectonic uplifted caused it shape. Regardless of this, it's one hell of a walk down to the river and back again. My regards to your loss

      The plates created the plateau, but the Colorado River cut down through the Colorado Plateau through millions of years of erosion.

    I for one enjoy the pictures I've seen of the canyon, but have never been there. I would like to see it sometime. As far as it's formation over millions of years by the river, or by Paul and Babe. I personally like the Paul Bunion story better. One fairy tale is as good as another.

    According to the Bible, the Earth is only around 6,000 years old. Kent Hovind has 7 seminars on RUclips explaining all that. He even discusses the Grand Canyon. He says the great flood caused it
