This isn't just because PC Gamer gave Rebirth a poor score, but they've been developing into click-bait territory for a while now. They've become a bit of a laughing stock of the PC community.
The author has 4 articles in 2024 and one in 2023 - his other "reviews" are comical. Does PC Gamer run a free for all publishing dribble pit, like GameRant, Inverse et al?
actually insane lol. i find that hate gaming news outlets get to be ridiculous most of the time but seriously - a fucking 68? 68???? legitimately insane considering he said the characters and combat were great in the review.
I can guarantee that the game is not optimized for pc gamer so I don't trust their review for a second. The story gripes make it ridiculous too, this part of the game is driven almost entirely character driven. That being said the plot does move in the second half, so his criticism of the story is BS.
@Kmaitland89 There are those who argue Rebirth has no story and that is the argument I was saying holds no water. I will also add the argument that Rebirth has a bad story or has bad storytelling isn't a strong argument. Again, to each their own.
Wonderful video, dude and as a fellow content creator I can relate to not wanting to go back to my previous videos and hearing myself speak but having watched your previous videos, I think you’re way better at articulating what you need to say than I do assuming that even means anything 😅. Anyways I’m in the camp of having already played Rebirth and finished it when it released on the base PS5 last year. Absolutely loved it, probably the best game I’ve played in years despite all the technical issues that’s been said about the game. With that said I’m in the process of building a PC to experience Rebirth in a completely new way. Not gonna lie I am slightly nervous due to the fact I’ve never done anything like this before since I’ve always been a console guy. But for Rebirth I’m willing to enter this different way of gaming. Hopefully the PC build I have in mind will be strong enough to handle playing Rebirth. I’m not one of those guys who are obsessed with playing games at 60 or 120 fps or getting 4k resolutions. I’m perfectly fine with getting at least the recommended requirements for playing the PC version. Besides, the #1 reason I’m even getting a PC is because I REALLY wanna get in on the fun when it comes to all the mods that have been created for Remake and soon to be Rebirth. Also play the OG FFVII mod that was created by Echo-S which comes with actual voice acting.
Does anyone have like base requirements to run this game? I really wanna try it but I don’t have a pc and I wouldn’t even know where to start Looking at pc stuff always seems like a scam the prices are always really random it seems, and new stuff always get outdated and ends up being cheaper. Any help would be cool!
Check pcgamerwiki for this game. The minimum says it's even lower. The thing I'm worried about is Direct 12 Ultimate and that those of us on lower end PC's can't use DirectX 11 anymore like it was done with Remake.
The level of critical acclaim and fan appraisal this is getting. This is the one we were waiting for. I can't believe the sales have been that bad. Surely with the game of the year nominations and the 100+ pefect scores they will secure that dream of over 10 mil sales.
Did Square Enix ever fix PC version of FF 7 Remake Intergrade? I need to play Remake 1 and its sequel but from what I heard so far, PC version of Remake 1 still isn't fixed unless it's just me that's not privy to any recent performance updates.
-dx11 in steam launch options fixes all shader compilation stutters. You will still see a tiny and infrequent amount of traversal (or loading if you prefer) stutter. If you want HDR in -dx11 mode you need to use RTX HDR or SpecialK. Goodluck!
Ohhhh pc gamer 😂 idk how you are a fan of the original and then hate the open world aspect. Also judging an entire game that isn’t finished yet - again if they know the original- I don’t understand their complaint. But that’s fine as you said they are entitled to their opinion but it’s not one I value or care for lol also your voice is calming so idk why you don’t like it 😂
Partly nVidia's fault for putting their frame gen technology under the DLSS brand. It would be nice if companies said "the game will have DLSS Super Resolution" or "the game will have DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction" specifically in their marketing materiel.
I think you should be mad at Square Enix being in cahoots with fukkin NVidia instead of working out a balance between nvidia, amd and maybe intel gpu cards instead of that bullcrap DSLL and dynamic resolution sh!t. They don't even give FSR a try and they gave us no choice but to use TAA in some form with the exception of it's highest setting.
I’m playing rebirth on the PS5 pro and it looks just as good as the PC version and has a constant 60 fps the only difference really is that the lighting is better on the PC
The brown-nosing is high level. PC gamer isn't wrong. If you take your mf bias out of the equation maybe you can see clearly. FF7's story was never a masterpiece from the very beginning. It's only been so from the delusions FF7 fans held up by worn band aids, gum, and glue and despite being strongest part in the game it doesn't automatically mean it somehow got a glow up with its story. The glow up is with its graphics, the lively game world and mini games.
@@NAzo. Just completely at odds with everywhere else, and with those that are indepdent and held in high regard with respect of unbiased reviews. But no, you and your pal are right - the significant majority are wrong 😂😂
Glowing reviews? People like the game but the port is just sort of competent. It’s not busted like Remake. That doesn’t make it good. It’s nowhere near a good PC port standard.

The no-story argument against Rebirth never holds water. It goes without say but to each their own, but that argument never stood well.
It’s not no story, it’s pacing of the story is pretty bad. That and it’s a mess.

I’m happy with the PS5 pro version it looks and plays great a massive improvement than the base PS5 version

From my understanding you’ll have to look at the modding community for any fixes. I believe they got the game running in a great state.
I've played mine without any performance mod, ran great on my 6700xt.
It runs basically fine now out of the box tbh
Thanks for the response everyone! I have 7800X3D cpu and 4070 ti super card so hopefully I won't need to resort to any mods!

I’m also a fan of the original and think the open world of rebirth is incredibly rote and tedious.
Time and place matter.
@ thats cool, everyone can have their opinion
@@Kmaitland89it's skippable though. Just like Zelda BOTW and TOTK. You can just go from point A to B and finish the game, just like in the OG game.
I was a bit put off to learn that they advertised DLSS only to learn it's just anti-aliasing and not upscaling.
