They weren't really poor. They were 90's quality. To be fair though, most of them are actually Japanese natives, speaking English. The slur is their speech very noticeable.
never played it but watching the run, it looks like a interesting game, although the voice acting and acting in general is quite poor. Or was that good quality for its days standards? most ninjas and samurais movies from japan were bad but there are no real world limitations in a virtual game, at least do the acting right. D:
