After making her orchestral debut at the age of 11 as the winner of the Cascade Symphony's Rising Star Competition under the baton of Maestro Michael Miropolsky, she has performed with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, the Bellevue Chamber Orchestra, and the Philharmonia Northwest. She has also been selected to appear as a Young Artist Soloist with the Seattle Symphony and Olympia Symphony in the 2024-2025 season.

Mom and dad surely already knows she is a first rate concerto player... So this is almost surely NOT her just "coming out from hiding", but its a little extra between her usual concertos. Or from a big Talent program.
I hope you added a deep bow of respect to her after you stood up! That was amazing! It never ceases to amaze me the way the human brain works- you played the piece without sheet music in front of you, yet if you had to just sit down and write it out, many would have a difficult time or be unable to do it without using their fingers to "play" on the edge of a table or actually sit in front of the piano and walk through it. Just as she played without sheet music, hitting each note with beauty and precision, your fingers danced their way through the piece as if they were on autopilot. The same thing happens with singing- you remember the exact words when the music is playing, but if you had to sit down and write the lyrics, it would be difficult. You both sounded truly amazing!
Csárdás-Written by Vittorio Monti in 1904 used hungarian folk music samples. Csárda is a kind of roadhouse where travellers could rest up, eat and drink and of course hang out a bit. If you guys like this, check out Brahms Hungarian Dances #5 too!
That must be some Hungarian piece, I had heard it earlier in my life. Anyway, whenAmericans or English people play it, the style is different. The fresh and bold way, how these Korean girls play it (add Yuna Kim), pours much more joy into my heart.
My wife was in the kitchen preparing ... something ... when I played this for her. When I told her the violinist was 9 years old she responded, "I'm not surprised". OK, she started playing the violin when she was 8, got her degree in music education, taught for years, and still plays now, and she is telling me if I took the Suzuki method in a couple years I could play. I told here I would take six months of lessons, if it was working I'd keep it up. I'm 76. She told me there is a school not far from here. I asked, "You won't teach me?" Her response was along the line of "Hell No"! OK, it makes sense. At least I won't have to pay for a violin, she buys them and repairs them. I think she'll lend me one.
