- Looking for a new way to display that Christmas Village?? If you’ve got a dresser, I've got you covered!! I removed the drawers and painted the interior white and voila! Instant Christmas Village Stand! See more on my blog here: www.confession...
Just absolutely lovely!
Thank you, Sandra!
EXACTLY what I’m looking for! Most villages I’ve seen are overwhelming and loose their charm. This beautiful idea displays your treasures with a nice neat look that adds quality to the collection. Last year I went with the slim corner shelving unit that is out lined with foliage and lights. Nice, but limited on how much I could set up. With this idea I could probably double my collection! Just curious, the “snow” looks great but is it a pain to clean up when packing it away?
Yes! This worked so well to display our treasures without taking up valuable space in our home! As for the snow, I just used our shop vac to suck it all up…super easy! I hope you give this idea a try! 💕
Such a great idea and what a wonderful tradition! Jack is so old now. I remember him just starting to work on projects at 14 or so!
Thank you! Yes! That doesn’t seem that long ago. He’s in college now! 💕
What a great idea and such a sweet tradition.
Love, love this....Marie from South Africa....
Thank you so much!
Very pretty! I need to get some snow like that for my villages. 💜🎄💜
Thank you, Diana! It is so life-like...found it at Michaels! :)
Thank you, Diana! It is so life-like...found it at Michaels! :)
So wonderful. I also remember Jack helping you on projects. Special memories. 🎄🎄🎄
Thank you, Karen! Yes! It was so nice to have him helping me while it lasted! :)
I LOVE this idea! I've stopped myself from building a collection because I didn't think I had the space to display it properly, but this is a game changer! Beautiful :)
Thank you!! It has really worked out well! 💕
This is the lovliest Christmas Village I've ever seen! Love your clever idea to "house" it in the drawer shelving! Perfect!
Aww that means so much, Donna! Thank you! ❤
Very creative layout on the shelves. Awesome display and great video.
Thank you! I’m so glad it worked out so well! 💕
You're Welcome. Well deserved. Hope you visit our site often.
WOW!!! I have about 25-30 Christmas houses - but yours are SO COOL! Are they a particular brand/maker? Mine are all Pleasantville, and I've displayed them on a "ledge" created when we took out half a wall. (Also have to put some on a sofa table and, bottoms of coffee tables.) Now I'm on the hunt for a dresser! Do you put the drawers back in after Christmas? I wonder if I could create front panels that could stick somehow - and then at least the houses could stay put all year and not have to be all boxed up again and again?!
Hi Jeanne! Mine are all different makers that I’ve collected over the years from various places. This dresser lives in my office to house supplies, so I store the drawers away during the holidays and put them back after. It has been a great way to display them without taking up additional space! 💕
I've never EVER seen a more beautiful Christmas village. Absolutely stunning and I love the old dresser you repurposed that house's it . Really wonderful job. Look forward to seeing more videos from you. 🥰
Aww thank you so much, Tracy! I’m thrilled that it worked out so well! ❤️
This is stunning! Love the whole set up. I hope your son continues the tradition 🎄
Thanks so much, Cathy! I hope so too!! ❤️
The video goes so fast you can’t tell what you’re doing plus you’re too far away. I love the idea and how you converted the chest. But I would have liked to have seen where all the cords went and where you plugged that many in.
Hi! This video went with a blog post that shows more detail. You can see that here: www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/a-new-way-display-that-christmas-village/ I use cords that have four bulbs on one strand that can light all the houses on each level. ❤
That is the best idea. I have village stuff too but I don't put it out because of space. How do you run the cords for the lights. Do you have openings in the back of the cabinet? It looks fantastic.🎅
Thank you, Jahnis! Yes...I just drilled a large enough hole at the back of each sections for the cords to run through. :)
So pretty! Love all the little vignettes. What do you use for snow?
Thank you! I use Original Buffalo Snow that I find at Michaels. It is super life-like! :)
@@ChristyJames it really is!
What a lovely winter ❄️ village display you've created. My grandfather always did a winter village under their Christmas tree 🌲. I started a collection years ago and my mom gave me some of the people with a bench and sleigh he used, they are painted pewter. You have inspired me to start doing this holiday tradition once again. Thanks so much for sharing 💕. Happy Holidays ☃️
Thank you so much, Pattie! I love that you are feeling inspired to set yours up again! Happy Holidays!!
@@ChristyJames Thanks so much Christy.💕
