I love Liz, but they were not separated at the time of her night w/Jason. She thought her marriage was over, but they were not separated. They did later separate and divorce, but before Jake was born, remarried, which never should have happened.
She caught her husband making out with Maxie in their apartment! He broke the marriage vows first by having a full blown affair. Grounds for a divorce. I don't fault her for being with Jason.

Yeah Jason pushed Sam away so she decided to trash her life by sleeping with Ric but both Lucky and Sam CHOSE to do those things. Liz and Jason turned to each other because of it but now that it's all out in the open Sam and Lucky think they can get back at Liz and Jason for something that wouldn't have happened if they never cheated in the first place.
