I'm 47...Green Day has been my band since I was a teenager. So happy they are still making music. All I listen to I the car, on my phone, non-stop. I never grow tired. No other band. I hope to see them someday before they stop touring. Literally my #1 bucket list item, no joke. LOVE YOU GUYS TO DEATH! Green Day FOREVER!!!
You haven't seen them?!?! 😮 I got to see them twice on the American Idiot tour. I got my dad to take me to one in Toronto in November 2004. I forgot my CD in his car. He prompted my brother to go buy me a new one, as mine was commendered. August 2005 they actually came to my crappy city (Barrie). I didn't have a -choice- about attending one. (These are both in Ontario, Canada. ) My dad died two years ago due to alcoholism. I had to leave his side to attend rehab. Holiday is the song I listened to before his funeral. Literally before I could have the strength to walk through the doors. It was his favourite. I shared my love of Green Day with my daddy, & it only made our love stronger. ❤ Green Day os the gift that just keeps on giving.
I’m telling you I waited 30 years to see them and no regrets. In fact I’m prioritizing seeing them often. The energy and showmanship was hands down the most enjoyable time I’ve ever experienced.
I can remember being young getting into a band for the first time. There's nothing quite like having 6 or so albums worth of songs to go back and listen to for the first time
That feels like a coincidence ngl- 1996 was missed, 2008 was missed, 2020 was missed unless you count father of all which i would personally rather not
I got my first Green Day CD when I was 11. Now I’m 30 and it’s 6:00AM and I’m on my way to work in a factory for less than $18/hr and can honestly say THE AMERICAN DREAM IS KILLING ME
$200/month as a factory worker here in Indonesia, where the prices of electronic goods are the same throughout the world. That includes being pressured by superiors or colleagues, where in Indonesia the people are known to be friendly, which is not true, they are annoying. Easily jealous & jealous, just naturally other humans. So, selling/trading is a brilliant idea.
just having an average job isn't the american dream though. it isn't the dream killing you. i was in the same situation at 30 due to my own ignorance, denial, stupidity, fear, etc, but at $4.30/hr back then. your reason might be different, but for me it wasn't the american dream's fault. it was mine.
You people with the negative comments don't understand this band at all. There is an interview that they did recently, where they explain the meaning of this song. They talk about how THEY absolutely were able to achieve the ultimate American dream, 30 years ago! But now the American dream is unattainable to the average person. They see the struggles that people are going through, and how much harder it is just to survive. They weren't born millionaires. They got where they are with talent and luck. And they don't take their success for granted. They are involved with more charities than I can count. Musicians and songwriters sing about things that they are passionate about. When they see injustice happening, they are going to speak out about it.
+. 100% agree. (The band is writing about injustices they are witnessing....it would be bad if they stopped writing about these things because it no longer "personally" affects them... Glad they are still calling out injustice, capitalism, America's stupidity for 20+ years. [Also f@ck all the ignorant haters])
The American Dream isn't killing anyone... why don't they discuss the actual issues instead of making it sound like wanting a traditional successful life with a house and a family is somehow horrible. Sounds like you're the one who isn't getting it.
yes exactly, no one knows how they started, playing anywhere and everywhere🤷♀️ they had so much heart and talent and their story is really amazing they really worked for it
The fact that Green Day credited everybody in the video from the director to the Zombies tells the world what kind of people they are: absolute class acts!
@@iceman10129 Good point, thanks. That again speaks of the kind of producers they work with; class act producers, haha! I'm an advocate for always crediting people (where credit is due, of course), and seeing this extensive credit list here just warmed my rock n roll heart! All the best!

43 and been listening to them since I was 13. I just saw them in concert for the first time. They sound the same!!❤❤
It's amazing how these guys are still making hard-hitting, head-banging, catchy music 30 years later

I used to listen to Green Day as a very young kid with my best friend. We’d turn up the volume for all the swear words. Over 20 years later we are still huge fans. So excited for the new album
Must've turned up the volhme a lot then

21CB vibes?! 🤯 We’re ready… 😩🤘
I feel more RevRad vibes, but yeah, they should expande on 21CB and RevRad sound, soooo goood
@shtheotherworldyeah i think so too
It sounds American Idiot-ish
Trilogy vibes
I was holding my breath hoping it wouldn't be like the last one
The American dream is killing me and I'm not even American...

A new song after so many years 😭
Its been like 3 years
It's only been 3 years I know singers that haven't released a new album in 10 years
They dropped 3 songs in 2021. Here Comes The Shock, Pollyanna, and Holy Toledo.
Their last album release was October 2016 though
@@rsnika1yeah exactly
Every single that they've released so far has been a banger, I'm excited for the new album
It's been a solid run, haven't felt this excited since Rev Rad. And One Eyed Bastard was yet another banger and I loved the heavier sound compared to the other singles
@@dylanburton4955 I have to listen to it again, liked it the first time around though. The bass really stood out, which I always appreciate
This is the Green Day I needed on 2020. Loving that they are back to their style again.
Yeah, feels like we're back to the American Idiot era
@@OV3RDRIVE24sounds more like the cool son of 21st CB and RevRad to me, but yeah!! Finally back to their style🖤
Too stereotypically “green day” though if we’re being honest
@@calogixThen what do you want? Lol

My son was born on the release date!! I couldn’t be happier for this! Best day ever! Green Day has been my favorite band since the 4th grade and I’m 30 now! Please never stop boys!
Congratulations, what a birthday!
wow, a Green "Birth" Day
If your kid being born on the release date of a Greenday song is making you happy then you need to get your priorities in line.
@@ChadLorwick The hell you even talking about?
Same here ❤ Happy birthday to your sweet boy!!
This video makes me think: "If the zombie apocalypse did happen, where would Green Day be?" They'd probably attach shotguns to their instruments and entertain the survivors.
Hahaha I’d love that
lmao, imagine being in a world-ending apocalypse and green day are just there amongst the chaos making commentary about american society
I'm guessing in multi million dollar mansions with private security.
Its great that they are still true to their sound and style all these years.
Father of All Motherfuckers wasn’t and it was awful. This is a return to form.
Its not even their true sound. Dookie doesnt sound like this.
@@jerometenorio7221 Dookie isn't their only iconic album. American Idiot's got most of their best tracks.
@@ShenDoodles but we are talking about their "true sound" not their "best sound"
Sonething in the middle of bulevar of broken dreams and american idiot
Green Day has been one of my favorite bands for 18 years, and I always get excited when they announce a new album. Super stoked for another one!
I love every single person who worked on this and the new Saviors album alongside Green Day themselves, thank you for bringing us a new Green Day Album!
How can you love something you havent heard yet
Where was I 2 months ago when this was released?! Been listening since Dookie was released and I was maybe 6 years old rocking out. Your music speaks volumes and I'm glad you use your platform the way you do! Keep it up!
So awesome that Mike returned to his Grabber for this one!!! I really hope he used it for more songs if not. the entirety of the album. There’s something about the punch + attack in every note with that bass that I’ve never heard him hit in quite the same frequency using any other bass. They’re so back!!!
Hard agree, he plays a bass like he's weilding it, and it's always been very eye-catching.
Tre meanwhile being the perfect clown he has always been makes me SO HAPPY 😂
I needed this. Thank you for continuing to make music. I've been having massive health issues. You guys are my favorite band. Thank you for this. Love you guys so much.
Good luck to ya ! Rock on
These dudes got me through Cancer! During my scans I requested them😊.

@@eastonmurdock04 they are known for waking people from comas too

How awesome. Good for you.

I got into Greenday when I was around 12, and now I'm 25 and still listening to you guys. Love ya from Meghalaya
Gracias papá Dios por dejarme seguir vivo para escuchar esta joya 💎💚

Green day is back!!!
They NEVER went away....
@@eviehammond9509yeah, not really, but they've been posting an album teaser for so long it feels like forever
@@alguem1266It really f*cking did take them long enough lol
Now we got to wait till January.
This album already feels and sounds like it's gonna be their best in a really really long time.
Yeah, but it doesn't count when the music is this fucking lifeless and generic.
There was a time when this band WASN'T boring as fuck.
Green Day remains my favorite band for a reason...hell of a comeback song!
Really looking forward to ur review of the song, Jon!
I knew you would be here🤘🏻😎
Lol hi, Jon. I figured you'd be here. I'm excited to see you and Fantano clash once again.
Of all the things i could've inherited from my mom, im glad that my love for these guys' music was one of them
Went to preschool listening to poprocks and coke along with all the other songs in International Superhits! Now I'm in college and Green Day is still making new music. Could never be more grateful to have grown up with any other band.
Your comment moved me to tears. ❤❤❤
Their longevity is amazing! Dookie came out when I was 10 years old and International Superhits dropped in my last year of highschool. That's MY upbringing all the way through, then it's like we passed the torch to your generation to rock with American Idiot through to FOAM... Now they're STILL making great music for the next ones coming through. Mind blowing!
@@mcpete912 "FOAM" is a ridiculous album that isn't even recognizable as Green Day. I don't know why it was even made. I hope this one is much better.
@@user-lg9hc1nl9u I have to agree with you there 👊
@@user-lg9hc1nl9u That album was just meant as a joke because they were off their contract with Warner but had to do one more album so they wanted to just fuck with everyone. Now we are back to serious business.
My daddy would have loved this. Thank you so much for continuing to bless us with your music, my men!! Green Day's guts are needed now more than ever!!!! Over 20 years of the pleasure of having you three being my favourite band!! Such a phase. ❤
I'm sorry
@@Michael97Moore thank you, but no need to be sorry. I shared my love of Green Day with my dad, & it only made our love stronger. It was his time. The pain doesn't lessen, you just learn to live with it. This song gave me so much so much joy already. The tears were only happy ones.
Billie, Mike, Tre, thank you for letting me grow up with your music. It means so much to me.

Can we all just agree this is the best Green Day song we've gotten in years?

21CB vibes mixed with American Idiot, this is a new era of Green Day, they never disappoint in their music, I'm 18 almost out of high school and I already listened to Green Day since when I was a child when my family introduced me to Boulevard Of Broken Dreams for the first time and since then I have been addicted to them, to the old generation who caught this great era, YOU ARE INSANE, nowadays it's just TikTok and stuff, there's no longer the same thing, but finally NEW MUSIC FROM MY FAVORITE BANDS, I'm here screaming *THE AMERICAN DREAM IS KILLING ME*

Such a catchy song. I'm really excited about this album. It's got the feeling of 21st century breakdown and revolution radio.
@woods009yeah I agree. 21CB was a little more somber, and Rev Radio was angry and loud
@woods009 this song has some elements of carpe diem from uno as well
