It is possibly a risk for blockages but when you research you'll find that its rawhide AND any bone or long lasting chew - the risk is any large piece of anything being swallowed. This has happened to us with Watson with a non raw hide chew! That's why I say that its best to supervise and make sure they aren't eating large bits. x

I thought rawhide was possibly dangerous for intestinal blockages. The shelter I got my dog from said no rawhide.
