I've played with slightly cracked racquets before, and you can't tell the difference between a cracked one and a brand new one. It only becomes an issue when the crack is so bad that the frame is no longer exactly the same shape, then it's time for a new one.
I fixed a small crack on a Babolat pure Aero with Super Glue and Baking soda. I then restrung it at 55lbs and it feels and hits the same as the other uncrack Aero I have. Seems to work on smaller cracks.
You should have done a blind test and also had a control racket of the same model. That would have made it interesting. Knowing it was cracked may have caused a pre conception
The big thing which people don't understand with repairs to a crack in the hoop is that apart from the added weight, it affect the BENDING CHARACTERISTICS of the racquet. That will change the way it plays and it usually results in an inconsistent response after the repair. Watch a slow motion video of a racquet in contact with a tennis ball - the entire racquet wobbles, bends, and vibrates at the point of contact. The bigger the repair/crack, the more you are changing the way the racquet plays.
@@vwmusicplaylist1935 maybe If you were a top 10 tennis player. They give you two rackets, and one of them repaired and painted as new and you couldnt notice the difference.
@@Golf0 Of course you would notice the difference if its a racquet that you're familiar with as any repair affects distribution of mass, RA etc. Have you even heard of that? You start putting additional GRP, carbon fibre cloth, resin etc in parts of the racquet and you've changed the specs and characteristics, simple as that. The only person would wouldn't notice would the sort of person who plays once a year in the garden or simply uses a tennis racquet to hit balls for their dog to chase!!
@@vwmusicplaylist1935 distribution of mass?? really?? if its 20 grams yes.. I repair rackets every week and they only gain 1,5 or 2 grams max.. still thinking that that mass is relevant?? XDDDD
I recently learned another way to crack a racquet in the shaft, above the grip Chase down a wide serve on the deuce side at an indoor court and swing through the mesh curtain. The racquet really doesn’t like that. The wrist doesn’t either. The racquet gave first. I lost the point too
i play with broken rackets and you dont notice anything, 1,5 grams extra weight.. a fly weights more.. i have a video on my channel showing parts of the process. All depends on how you repair, the technice.
I've only cracked two graphite racquets. Both were oversized widebodies and this was in the 1990s. They just got really buzzy and I didn't even think that they could be repaired but that was the 1990s. I've used smaller racquets since then, usually 90s and 95s and those may be less prone to breaking because they are likely more dense and I usually lead them up to 13 ounces.
You should take a look at carbon fiber bike repair. It's possible, but I don't think it's cost effective to do it properly for a tennis racket. To do it properly you have to cut out the section and replace it with an identical carbon layup to what was originally there.
I was watching your video on the Decathlon Artengo spin pro I was wondering how does it compare to the big brands spin rackets should I buy? What would I be losing aka lacking? Because the price is two Artengo rackets for the price of one big brand… please help.. I’m looking for a spin racket
It mostly depends if the racket was broken over you or you broke the racket. This is why we invented Badminton. Having a tennis racket laying around is just arming your wife.
Would've been nice if you could find the exact same racket, undamaged, and strung to the same tension and same grip and compared them... How would they compare then???
I am curious. How much would those couple of repairs individually cost? A normal Joe blow does not have the necessary materials & tools to fix a racquet. And, the cost of the fix by a repair person probably outweighs the repair. Last year, I saw 4 cracked racquets in the garbage or left on the court. They were cracked or smashed by the owner due to tempers. The owner's took out their lack of game on the racquets and punished the equipment. I don't get it! The other thing is, people smash balls or racquets into the net or fence enclosure. Take my advice, don't do it! One guy brutalized a tennis ball which hit me between the back of my shoulders. He was not without punishment. We have not played on the same court in about 7 months.
Do you really think anyone will believe you about these repaired rackets prevents you from playing with them?? You own a racket store silly you would never say the truth!!!!! But if you want to be honest tell us where we can get so call graphite tape and let us decide for ourselves??
Are you seriously posting on the internet and whining about not being told where to buy stuff 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Are you new to this?? And do you not watch the video? Your comment suggests you didn't. 🤦🤦🤦

I use a $200 bill to wrap the crack and it works... It becomes a new racket 😎

my racquet is a bit cracked near the grip part and it's wiggling a bit if I fill it with super glue will it work?
@@headhunter5897 I used cheap super glue to fill and then sprinkle baking soda over it. It works good for smaller cracks.
@@everydayasian9880 how bad was the crack? And can u show me how to repair it bro? Please help me my fav aero is broken :(

how would you propose he would do that? play blindfolded?
That’s right.
And I would add that patch on the other side of the racquet to balance it
I fixed these racquets to see if it was possible. If you smash your racquet on purpose, you have to buy a new one from Harry😄.

You can't repair a cracked graphite racquet in a way that will make it play the same as the original. Period.

I used epoxy to mend a crack on my Babalot Pure Drive. It's my practice racquet. I wouldn't use it for regular match play.

You can use lead tape to even out the weight on the head repair.
JB Weld works great and the added weight is negligible
I was looking for someone to lower the net for the first guy.😊
Hey, one friend send his pure strike to repair with glass fiber and it felt almost like new
hey, where did he send it? I have a new racket with a crack :(
Sorry man, here at Mexico
Hi please can I ask you a question please can you tell me if the babolat pure drive 2021 is hollow inside the handle of the racket please thank you 😁🚀
What if the crack is not on the loop? Like the crack is near the triangle below the strings

Desperate times require Desperate measures. I'm happy to be solvent enough to avoid this.
"Maybe I'll frame a few" 🤣🤣
Why? Just get a $50 racket at Costco when they get them. Usually a couple months every year.
Epoxy, carbon fiber sheets and a heat gun. Is my guess.
Where can i get the graphite tape etc the epoxy he used?
eBay sells Carbon Fiber Fabric Cloth Tape
TOO I.... REPAIR ROCKETS... AND YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHERE.....THE PLACE... THEY WERE REPAIRED SO WELL I REPAIR THEM!!
