Using A $16 Sub pump to Water my Garden

  • Before this new setup I would fill up gallon jugs and watering cans and water the garden by hand.. It was a painstaking production and I dreaded it!!! The only outside water source is really far away and to pipe it into the garden would be an even bigger hassle... Using the sub-pump has made it less of a chore... If you find yourself lugging around 5 gallon buckets, gallon jugs, or watering cans for over an hour, might I suggest getting a sub-pump!! Stay well my friends!!
    Thanks you so much for watching and stay well!!! Feel free to leave a message bellow or contact me via email back2myrootshomestead@gmail.com or friend me on facebook / backtomyrootshomestead

    Thank you soooooooo much. You don't know how much this is information just saved me time and money. I have been searching all over the web to find a simple way to water a 2 acre Pepper farm and just found the best information ever. I wish I can meet you in person and carry you all over the world and not put you down. Thank, thank you, and thank you.

    Hey they have inline hose filters and quick connectors on Amazon. But pantholes over the bottom of the pump will.stop debri will work in a pinch

  • @imlew7853
    @imlew7853 Год назад

    All my hose has shut off valves connected. It shoots up the water quite far and good spread of water with no pressure interference.
    Wondering if the pump will get damage if I shut off the outflow valve in few intervals.

    You should attach some fine mesh filter material to the bottom of your subpump to prevent any bits being sucked in and blocking your Sprayer 😉....Great idea btw to use a sub pump in the water barrels 👍🏼

    I like what you’ve got going on. I’m thinking you could put one of those cheap remote control modules for Christmas lights on your power supply and control turning your pump on and off that way.

    Get you a paint strainer bag from Lowes and put it over your pump to keep the small junk from passing through. I also hand water my hole garden but I plan to change that this winter when I revamp my setup. Everything is looking good in your garden! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing with us. :-)

      CB's Greenhouse and Garden, a paint strainer, that's a wonderful idea!!! I'll get one when I'm 'in town'!! I had to change things up otherwise I think I would have thrown in the towel. I'm interested in what you have planned for your new water system. Stay well!!

    Great idea with submersible pump but I'm wondering if you had any pump problems like overheating or not working when you have a nozzle attached to the garden hose? Especially when the pump is plugged in and you are not spraying any water or letting any water flow out?

      I'm thinking it will be OK for short periods of time but you don't want to leave it hooked up you'll dead head the pump it will burn out but for $16 oh well

    • @BobSmith-iu3hx
      @BobSmith-iu3hx 3 года назад +1

      @@matprang4508 Yes, you are right, deadheading a pump is not good for the pump. I read the comments just to see if someone was going to mention this fact. They should be using an on-demand pump that has a pressure switch.

    I thought about doing the same thing but was too concerned about the oil used in the pumps. Are you not concerned about that? There are oil less ones but they are 5x the price and from the reviews I've seen don't last very long.

    • @bradleythomsen3083
      @bradleythomsen3083 5 лет назад

      The oil is very minimal and doesn't do the pump any good if it doesn't remain in the pump. A one minute first time flush would be sufficient.
